Week 12: at Jacksonville Jaguars

All QB vs JAX

Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. The Chargers offensive line is a shambles due to multiple key injuries - and their passing totals/sacks allowed (three given up for -29 yards). Philip Rivers and company eked out 19/30 for 178 yards passing, zero TDs and one interception thrown. Stevie Johnson (eight targets for 7/54/0 receiving) and Dontrelle Inman (five for 3/51/0) did their best to fill in for the injured Keenan Allen (lacerated kidneys/IR) and Malcom Floyd (torn labrum in shoulder, Out last week) but combined with the chaos up front there wasn't much they could get done. San Diego only scored three points last week, and they may struggle to get more than that again this week given the dire injury woes impacting the offense. The Jaguar's pass D is ranked 25th in the NFL averaging 262.8 net yards allowed per game, with 17 passing scores handed out vs. five interceptions generated (next-to-last in the NFL). They are in the middle of the NFL with 23 sacks this season (tied for 15th) and will be bringing the heat through that awful offensive line on Sunday. Last week, Tennessee was held to 22/35 for 212 net yards passing, zero TDs or interceptions thrown, with four sacks taken for -19 yards at Jacksonville. The Chargers may give up even more this week. This is a neutral matchup on balance, but the glaring flaws of the Chargers' offense are there for everyone to see right now, and they haven't been able to address all the injury issues adequately.

2015 Week 3 vs MIN (5 / 6 / 63 / 1 / 0 pass, 0 / 0 / 0 rush)

Clemens replaced starter Philip Rivers with a little over eight minutes left to play, and the game all but over. Rivers had been getting knocked around, but he didn't exit the game due to injury but rather due to the score. Clemens took advantage of an extremely soft Minnesota defense to lead the Chargers downfield on a touchdown drive. He found Keenan Allen on a deep slant, putting the ball in a tight spot for the score.
