2014 Week 10 vs KC (6 / 3 / 17 / 0 rec)

Chandler only caught three balls on Sunday, as his biggest impact came in a negative setting. The tight end picked up four yards on his first catch on the Bills opening drive and promptly followed that catch up with another two plays later that went for nine yards as he sat down in the zone over the middle of the field. Unfortunately Chandler essentially disappeared until he absolutely blew an opportunity to recover Bryce Brown's fumble in the end zone. The only player with a shot at recovering the loose ball, Chandler chose to pick it up instead of just diving on it. Understandably difficult for a 6' 7" man to get low enough to secure the football, Chandler pulled up too quickly and the ball ricocheted off his fingertips and out the back of the end zone for a Chief touchback. Later Chandler again entered the doghouse, picking up a questionable offensive pass interference call on a catch where he'd converted a third down. At the top of out-breaking route, Chandler certainly got physical with the defender but it's not something Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham don't do every single week. Chandler should have had a touchdown in the first half, but Orton was too quick on the trigger. Chandler ran a wheel route and the Chiefs seemed to lose him in coverage. However, Orton fired the ball too high and with too much velocity as Chandler had no shot at making a play on the errant throw. Had Orton just put it on his tight end, he would have walked into the end zone untouched.

2014 Week 11 vs MIA (3 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Scott Chandler went without a catch on Thursday as he only received two targets. Working out immediately off the line, Chandler's first target may have had a bit too much velocity on it as it clanged off his hands on what should have been an easy completion. Later Orton and Chandler seemed to have a miscommunication with the Bills last-ditch effort to make a comeback. Chandler fired off the line down the middle of the field and gave Orton a quick look, which the quarterback clearly took for Chandler's perceived readiness. However, the tight end looked away just prior to the ball coming out and it fell incomplete as the Bills turned the ball over on downs.
