His statistics were respectable after five years in Miami, but not near the top of the ever increasing standards of NFL kickers. The Dolphins consequently dumped him for rookie Caleb Sturgis. After very brief stints with several teams last summer, he landed in Buffalo and went on to have the best year of his career - with highs on field goals attempted and made, field goal percentage, and successful long range kicks. That probably makes him the early favorite over Dustin Hopkins, who as a rookie last year landed on IR before the season began. Whoever wins the job will be working with long snapper Garrison Sanborn and probably with punter/holder Brain Moorman. The Bills have alternated between the middle and bottom of the rankings in kicker scoring opportunities the past five years (11th, 28th, 14th, 31st & 16th).
