Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 17 vs LAR (8 / 7 / 74 / 1 rec - 19.4 points, $3300)

Byrd's game came together against the Rams as a certified deep threat for the Cardinals. Byrd hauled in two deep passes from Kyler Murray, but was one called back by a pass interference penalty. Byrd added a contested goal line slant touchdown and a screen reception of his highlights. While not a core player for the Cardinals long term, Byrd has flashed in multiple games in 2019 on a team searching for a regular deep threat with rookie Andy Isabella not providing much Year 1 presence.

2019 Week 3 vs CAR (4 / 2 / 9 / 0 rec - 2.9 points, $3000)

Byrd took a sizeable step back in his role this week as Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald were the central passing game figures for the Cardinals. Byrd had a solid slant route reception but struggled on the rest of his targets for any impact. Without clarity by way of injury, Byrd is a situational deep threat - at best - for the Cardinals' passing game going forward.

2019 Week 2 vs BAL (7 / 6 / 45 / 0 rec - 10.5 points, $3000)

Byrd was a positive contributor on a hearty seven targets against the Ravens. Byrd converted a key third-down highlight back-shoulder reception as well as a fourth-down slant opportunity. Byrd added a goal line defensive pass interference penalty but also dropped a routine comeback route target. Byrd's speed has not been on display through two games like it was in the preseason.

2019 Week 1 vs DET (7 / 4 / 42 / 0 rec - 8.2 points, $3000)

Byrd continued his offensive involvement from the preseason, collecting seven targets against Detroit in the season opener. Arizona ran a high number of four-receiver sets and Byrd collected three of his receptions between the final drive of regulation and overtime, two of which were key plays on third down. Byrd also added a red zone slant reception along the way. Byrd was a distant fourth in the pecking order of Arizona's wide receivers, a sign for pessimism of Byrd's big picture impact in terms of predictability, but Byrd offers the most speed to unlock Kyler Murray's deep accuracy.
