2016 Week 17 vs SEA (2 / 1 / 24 / 0 rec)
Burbridge's snap count was the result of alternating drives with Chris Harper. On the surface, his first target -- and only reception -- coming against Richard Sherman's man coverage seems celebration-worthy. But here's the thing: Sherman was in off-man, and the other two receivers in San Francisco's bunch right formation set a pick on him such that he literally went head over heels. Wide open with nothing but green grass in front of him, Burbridge caught the 1-yard pass and ran for 23 more yards.
2016 Week 16 vs LA (3 / 2 / 15 / 0 rec)
All three of Burbridge's targets came on third down. The first was a 13-yard catch on 3rd-and-3 in the second quarter. Motioning inside as the ball was snapped, Burbridge beat slot cornerback Blake Countess on a slant route and was able to haul in a pass thrown behind him. Later in the same drive, Burbridge ran a shallow cross from the rear of a bunch right formation and got open on 3rd-and-6. Colin Kaepernick was hit as he threw the pass, so Burbridge had to reach back for the catch rather than doing so in stride. This allowed cornerback E.J. Gaines to make the tackle short of a first down. Burbridge's final target came on 3rd-and-9 midway through the third quarter. The play wasn't designed to go to him, but the Rams' pass rush forced Kaepernick to roll out of the pocket to his right, and Burbridge's comeback route along the right sideline was his only desperation option. Burbridge caught the ball, but couldn't keep both feet in bounds.
2016 Week 15 vs ATL (3 / 2 / 29 / 0 rec)
Burbridge got the start in place of Torrey Smith and was a Smith clone. Against man-to-man coverage on his first target, the pass fell incomplete. But on his second and third targets, Burbridge found a hole in the Falcons' zone for gains of 14 and 15 yards. Of course, the first of these came near the end of the first half, and the second came near the end of the game.
2016 Week 11 vs NE (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Burbridge split time with Chris Harper as Torrey Smith's replacement. His only target wasn't much of one at all, as he was simply in the area of Colin Kaepernick's sack-avoiding throwaway. It doesn't show up in the box score, but Burbridge should have had a red zone target that easily could have resulted in a touchdown. It failed to materialize because Kaepernick was a second late in seeing him wide open on a slant. Just as he did see Burbridge, New England's pass rush was arriving for a sack.
2016 Week 7 vs TB (2 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)
Burbridge saw increased playing time because Torrey Smith entered the game with sore back. Tampa Bay mostly played off-man coverage, so Burbridge saw plenty of Brent Grimes on the right side of San Francisco's offensive formation. His incomplete target was a pass on 3rd-and-8 that Grimes read perfectly and deflected away. Burbridge's lone reception was the result of presnap motion moving him into the slot, where he was able to lose Jude Adjei-Barimah through middle-of-the-field traffic on a crossing route. Colin Kaepernick's innacurate throw exposed Burbidge to an unnecessary hit from Adjei-Barimah, but he was able to hold on for 15 yards and a first down.
