Week 7: vs Philadelphia Eagles - $

All WR vs PHI

FBG says: Great matchup. In week six, former-Cowboy and current-CBS analyst Tony Romo noted that he could see "Jason Garrett's footprints in this [Cowboys] offense." Sadly, after a strong start to the season with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore seemingly in charge of calling Dallas' upstart offense, Jason Garrett has made his way back into the picture influencing the Cowboys' offensive play-calls. During Dallas' 3-0 start to the season, their passing attack was refreshingly dependent upon play action, significantly increasing quarterback Dak Prescott's efficiency. Now, in the midst of a three-game losing streak, Dallas' passing attack is looking increasingly similar to Cowboys offenses of years past. Prescott has gone without a passing touchdown in two of his last three outings, with his numbers inflated in the third game due to increased passing volume during garbage time against the Green Bay Packers. In week seven, Prescott's favorite target, Amari Cooper, is unlikely to play after sustaining a quad injury that sidelined him for almost all of last week's loss to the New York Jets. Michael Gallup will assume the number-one receiving role in Dallas' passing attack in Cooper's absence. Over the last two weeks, Gallup has totaled 11 receptions on 21 targets for 161 yards and a touchdown. Tavon Austin also recorded season-high target, reception, and yardage totals last week without Cooper. Look for him to play a larger role in Dallas' offense while Amari Cooper is sidelined. Dallas' offensive line, when healthy, is among the league's best. In week seven, however, they may be without both starting tackles against the Philadelphia Eagles. La'El Collins and Tyron Smith both missed week six, and both are questionable for week seven. Brandon Knight started in place of Collins and allowed a team-high six pressures on the quarterback, while Cameron Fleming played for Tyron Smith and held his own, allowing only one pressure. A previously-elite offensive line is likely closer to league-average without Smith and Collins on the field, hampering what was previously a resounding strength in the Cowboys' offense. The Philadelphia Eagles' pass defense ranks amongst the league's worst through the first six weeks of the 2019 season. Philadelphia's defensive line features two top-tier pass-rushers in Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham, but their supporting cast has been unimpressive recently. Last week, Philadelphia's front four was hardly able to force any pressure on Kirk Cousins at all, even against Minnesota's struggling offensive line. At linebacker, the Eagles released Zach Brown following his ill-advised comments to the media before last week's game, coupled with poor on-field performance. Brown was a strong coverage linebacker, and he will likely be replaced by Kamu Grugier-Hill. In limited 2019 action, Grugier-Hill has struggled against the pass. Expect a significant downgrade in coverage at the second-level of Philadelphia's defense going forward. The secondary has been the weakest point of the team's defense so far in 2019. Last week, the Vikings consistently beat Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones deep, as Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs combined for 13 catches on 19 targets, 224 yards, and a stunning 4 touchdowns. On the season, the Eagles have allowed 6 100-yard receivers in 6 games. The only team to not register a 100-yard receiver against Philadelphia was the New York Jets in week five, quarterbacked by Luke Falk, who has since been released. A matchup against Philadelphia's horrid pass defense may be the perfect remedy for Dallas' struggling aerial attack. Last weekend, the Vikings set season-high passing totals against the Eagles thanks to a play-action-heavy offensive gameplan. Should the Cowboys adopt a similar strategy, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' offense have a fantastic opportunity to right the ship and light up the scoreboard in week seven.
