Week 16: at Pittsburgh Steelers
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. This game has profound playoff implications for both teams - look for a hard-fought contest. Alex Smith cruised to a fine performance against the raiderless Raiders last weekend, throwing 18/30 for 297 yards passing, two TDs and zero interceptions, with one sack taken for -2 yards. Knile Davis (two targets for 1/70/1 receiving) and Travis Kelce (six for 5/59/1) handled the TDs for Smith, while Dwayne Bowe (seen for 3/69/0) and Albert Wilson (five for 3/69/0) kept the chains moving in this phase of the game. The Steelers's pass D is ranked 25th in the NFL averaging 252.9 net passing yards allowed per game, with 28 passing scores given out (two per game on average) vs. a mere nine interceptions and only 24 sacks generated so far (25th- and 27th-ranked in the NFL, respectively). There isn't much this pass D does well, friends. Matt Ryan lit them up for 26/37 yielding 310 yards passing, two TDs and one interception thrown last week (zero sacks taken). Advantage, Kansas City.

Recent Game Summaries
2014 Week 13 vs DEN (5 / 2 / 18 / 0 rec)
Bowe picked up a first down with a 10 yard reception in the 2nd quarter and made a nice diving grab on a ball thrown wide by Smith for an 8 yard gain in the 4th quarter. He lost a big opportunity when Smith missed him wide open over the middle in the red zone. It was discouraging to see Bowe's lack of involvement with his team playing from behind so often.
2014 Week 14 vs ARI (3 / 2 / 29 / 0 rec)
Bowe only had two catches, but one of them was a phenomenal play. He caught a short slant and sprinted up the field. As two safeties converged Bowe hurdled them both and continued up the field for a 22 yard gain. Bowe also made a good hands catch on a short out that was thrown behind him.
2014 Week 15 vs OAK (7 / 3 / 69 / 0 rec)
Bowe was his inconsistent self, but did make a couple of big plays. Bowe made a great snag over the middle for his first catch and then spun away from the defender for an 11 yard gain and a first down. Early in the second quarter he cost himself a big gain by failing to drag his right foot after catching a well thrown ball from Smith down the left sideline. Bowe bounced back near the end of the half, turning a deep in into a 37 yard gain by doing a good job of following his blockers down the field. Bowe also threw in a bad drop on a deep post that was thrown low, but catchable.
Latest NewsChiefs | Dwayne Bowe questionable (Fri Dec 19, 04:48 PM) - Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (flu) did not practice for the third straight day this week Friday, Dec. 19, and is questionable for Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, head coach Andy Reid is confident that Bowe will play against the Steelers. “He’s taken in some fluids and trying to maintain keeping those fluids in,” Reid said. “We’ll just see how he does. He is making improvement, but he did not practice today.” Our View: Bowe has a great matchup against Pittsburgh, but he could be weak and not up for the game physically if he doesn't get better by game time. Monitor this if you are thinking about starting him.
link to story Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe still sick (Thu Dec 18, 06:03 PM) - Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (illness) missed his second straight practice due to an illness Thursday, Dec. 18. Our View: Bowe has been a disappointment yet again this year (shocking, we know), and is no better than a WR3 this week against Pittsburgh.
link to story Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe sick Wednesday (Wed Dec 17, 06:26 PM) - Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (illness) sat out of practice with an illness Wednesday, Dec. 17. Our View: Fantasy owners are sick of Bowe underperforming, but they're not taking the day off. In all seriousness, Bowe should be back for another underwhelming performance in Week 16.
