From the upgrade/downgrade report (Mon Nov 24): We could blame Week 11 on the anemic number of pass attempts, but Week 12 was a better passing day for Alex Smith, and Dwayne Bowe didn't come along. A low ceiling and no touchdowns is now joined by a low floor for Bowe.

Recent Game Summaries

2014 Week 10 vs BUF (12 / 8 / 93 / 0 rec)

As far as the Chiefs passing game went; it was the Bowe show for the most part. Bowe had 80% of the Chiefs receptions from receivers and more than half of the Chiefs total receiving yards. He was able to get through the day without a terrible drop or poor route. He killed the Bills on short stop routes and hitches. His first catch came on a short slant; Bowe broke a tackle but lost the ball, then picked it back up and scampered for a 23 yard gain on the play. Bowe dominated the Chiefs first touchdown drive, with 45 yards on 4 catches. He made a quick reaction on a stop route when the ball got on him in a hurry for a gain of 9 and showed excellent footwork on a 15 yard gain on the left sideline. Bowe's hands and route running were exceptional without fail in this one and he was a huge part of their limited success.

2014 Week 11 vs SEA (4 / 2 / 18 / 0 rec)

Bowe was covered by Richard Sherman for much of the day and saw only one target in the first half. Both of his second half catches came on slants where he beat Sherman over the middle. Bowe also had a drop on a short slant that was thrown slightly behind him in heavy traffic.

2014 Week 12 vs OAK (5 / 3 / 42 / 0 rec)

Despite the game script, Bowe wasn't as involved as you would suspect. His 24 yard gain came on a short slant where his man was picked off by his own teammate. Bowe did a good job getting up the field quickly to turn it into a big play. Bowe also beat his man badly on deep out on his first catch. Bowe was also open in the end zone in the 4th quarter, but Smith didn't see him.
