Summary

Dwayne Bowe was the top wide receiver on a team that had zero receiving touchdowns in 2014. While it's not likely that Bowe repeats his zero-score season, he's still an aging veteran who is past his prime. Being paired with a quarterback like Josh McCown who will take downfield shots and throw "50-50" balls may help Bowe improve statistically, but this passing offense is going to be very pedestrian. Bowe also missed the preseason opener with a hamstring injury. For an aging player, that's not a good start to the preseason. (August 18)

Browns | Duke Johnson, Dwayne Bowe start (Sat Aug 29, 07:29 PM) - Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (hamstring) and WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) were in the starting lineup for the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29.

Our View: Johnson is an exciting rookie running back to watch. He can make defenders miss in the open field, and Johnson is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Right now, Johnson is coming off the board at RB39 (8.09) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Browns | Terrelle Pryor has support (Fri Aug 28, 09:16 PM) - Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) had shown enough in training camp prior to injuring his hamstring that he should make the team, WR Dwayne Bowe said, and CB Joe Haden compared Pryor physically to Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson.

Our View: Really, it's not like there is a murderer's row of talent at wide receiver for the Browns. Pryor is intriguing enough to tempt, but don't succumb. The quarterback situation is a mess, the offense looks terrible and he's likely got a learning curve in order to just be good. Keep an eye on him, but don't put him on your roster.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe practicing (Sun Aug 23, 11:11 AM) - Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 23.

Our View: Bowe is getting a late start on the preseason, but he is a veteran who should be ready with little preparation. It still won't help his chemistry with his new quarterbacks, but Bowe is only really emergency depth this year in a toothless Browns passing attack.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe could play soon (Sat Aug 22, 02:03 PM) - Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) said he feels good enough to play Week 3 of the preseason but that that decision is up to the team.

Our View: Almost never reaching his full potential, Bowe now will have to produce with a mess at quarterback in a very tough division. We see him as no better than a WR4 this year.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe returns to field (Sat Aug 22, 11:59 AM) - Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 22.

Our View: Bowe is back in action, but will he care enough during the regular season to even matter for fantasy owners? We're not seeing a lot of value here. Bowe has always had talent, but a questionable QB situation plus motivation issues has us avoiding him in fantasy drafts.
