Week 12: vs Baltimore Ravens

All WR vs BAL

Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. For a short while, Johnny Manziel was named the starter for the Browns - but he promptly hit the bars during Cleveland's Week 11 bye, got on TMZ with a champagne bottle in his hand, and has been busted back to third on the depth chart for the partying. Josh McCown is back in as the starter going forwards - just in time to play the team that allowed him 36/51 for 457 yards passing, two TDs and zero interceptions thrown during a Week Five 33-30 OT victory! McCown relied on Gary Barnidge (10 targets for 8/139/1 receiving), Isaiah Crowell (two for 2/38/1), Travis Benjamin (12 for 6/83/0); Taylor Gabriel (five for 4/75/0) and Duke Johnson (eight for 6/55/0) to help him pile up the enormous game. Lately, McCown has nursed sore ribs but is now back to health after the Cleveland bye (he is rumored to be the preferred option of coach Mike Pettine anyways, but Manziel had the draft pedigree and would have had a chance over the final month of the season - that is over now). To date, McCown has compiled 165/254 for 1,897 yards passing, 11 TDs and four interceptions, while appearing in seven games. The Ravens' pass D is ranked 24th in the NFL averaging 257.0 net passing yards allowed per game, with 19 passing TDs balanced by a mere four interceptions (tied for dead last in the NFL), and 25 sacks generated (tied for 11th). Over the past four weeks (three games), this team is ranked 21st in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks (18.9 on average); 19th in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends (8.1); and is in the middle of the league in fantasy points given out to opposing wide receivers (22.5, 16th). This is a middlin'-to-subpar unit any way you slice it. The Rams' feckless attack managed just 12/26 for 131 net yards, one TD and zero interceptions thrown last week, but that was more a function of their own dysfunctional ways - Blake Bortles was sacked three times for -20 yards two weeks ago, but slung 22/45 for 168 net yards passing, two TDs and one interception. This looks like a good matchup for the on-again starter McCown and company.

Recent Game Summaries

2015 Week 9 vs CIN (5 / 3 / 31 / 0 rec)

Bowe made his first catch of the season, picking up four yards on a slant. The play came in the red zone and he was brought down at Cincinnati's 11 yard line. He wasn't heard from again until garbage time on Cleveland's last drive of the game. He showed some physicality on his second catch, shedding a tackle on the way to a 16-yard gain. Bowe then saw an end zone target, but he got tangled up with the defender and was unable to make a play on the ball.

2015 Week 8 vs ARI (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Bowe was active for just the third time this season and didn't see a target until late in the fourth quarter. Johnny Manziel threw an errant pass his way which was uncatchable.

2015 Week 4 vs SD (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Bowe was active for just the second time this season and saw just one target. He dropped a perfectly placed ball that should have converted a third down for the team.

2015 Week 2 vs TEN (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

In his Browns debut, Bowe was targeted just once on a pass that was uncatchable. He was not heard from again in the game.
