News you need to know
From the upgrade/downgrade report (Mon Sep 15): Looks like Bowe is picking up where he was in the first half of the 2013 season - as a toothless downfield threat - instead of his later 2013 performances when he looked like his old self. If this keeps up at Miami, he might be droppable.
General News (Thu Sep 18): practiced fully on Thursday.
General News (Wed Sep 17): practiced fully on Wednesday.
Week 3: at Miami Dolphins
Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. Alex Smith posted 26/42 for 255 yards passing, zero TDs and zero interceptions thrown, with two sacks taken for -8 yards last week. To date, he's thrown 45/77 for 457 yards passing, one TD and three interceptions to land at 22nd among all fantasy quarterbacks so far this year. With Dwayne Bowe back in the fold (six targets for 3/40/0 receiving), and Travis Kelce emerging (six targets for 4/81/0 to lead the team in receiving) the Chiefs have some positive things happening on offense while going 0-2 to open the season. The Dolphins' pass D ranks 15th in the NFL averaging 214.0 net passing yards allowed per game, with two passing scores and zero interceptions generated through two contests. EJ Manuel was not sacked or hit by the Dolphins last week as he threw for 16/26 yielding 202 net yards passing, one TD and zero interceptions thrown. In Week 1, Tom Brady and company manufactured 29/56 for 226 net yards passing, one TD and zero interceptions, while taking four sacks for -23 yards. The Dolphins' pass D is looking pretty mediocre as of Week 3. This is a neutral matchup for the Chiefs' signal caller and his cohorts.

2014 Week 2 vs DEN (6 / 3 / 40 / 0 rec)
Bowe was severely underused in this game with his first catch coming with 11:45 left in the third quarter. He caught that in tight coverage and picked up 14 yards on 3rd and 11. Bowe didn't see the ball again until the 4th quarter but he made a huge catch on the team's final drive. On 2nd and 5 from the 30 Bowe beat his man on the left sideline, caught the pass and took a huge hit. He picked up 21 yards on the play and moved the team inside the 10. There were several plays where it looked like Bowe was a decoy, even though he didn't have Aqib Talib on him.

Our View: Bowe is only a WR3/Flex play at best against the Broncos, but the Chiefs being in catch up mode for most of the game could fuel him to a nice stat line in his return.
link to story Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe not expected to be limited (Thu Sep 11, 07:27 PM) - Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) isn't expected to be limited in any way in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos in his first game of the season after serving a one-game suspension, according to head coach Andy Reid. “He had a great training camp and preseason,” Reid said. “I haven’t seen anything (like that). I liked what I saw there. He came back in great shape. We expect him to have a real good year.” Our View: The team can't limit him. They need to play out of their mind offensively to stand toe-to-toe against the league's best offense. The Broncos should boat race the Chiefs--even if Denver doesn't play their best.
