Week 7: at Indianapolis Colts

All RB vs IND

FBG says: Tough matchup. Leonard Fournette continued his dominance right out of the gate last week as he busted off a 75-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage for the Jaguars. While he struggled to get going thereafter, averaging just over two yards per attempt, he still finished with a healthy 130 yards on the ground. Fournette appeared to twist his ankle late in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game, but he is expected to suit up for Week 7 as the Jaguars coaching staff has said it was nothing to be concerned about. The Jaguars offensive line has not played that well this season, ranking in the bottom tier of Footballguys' Matt Bitonti's offensive line rankings. While Fournette has scored a touchdown in every game with three 100+ yard outings, if you remove his two long runs of 90-yards and 75-yards, Fournette is only averaging 3.36 yards per attempt--a testament to the quality of offensive line he is running behind, along with what his floor could be without those big plays. The Colts rushing defense did a great job against the Titans last week, regardless of what the stat sheet says. Take away Derrick Henry's garbage time 72-yard touchdown run, and the Titans only managed to average 2.8 yards per rush attempt. Henry was bottled up for most of the game until that final play that severely skewed the stats. Rushing touchdowns have been an issue for the Colts defense though, as they now have allowed a league-leading eight rushing touchdowns, six of which have been to opposing running backs. While there is no doubt that Leonard Fournette has been absolutely elite this season, he is coming off an ankle injury while running behind a sub-par offensive line that will not match up well with the Colts' solid defensive interior.
