Summary

The former Montana standout had his 2013 campaign cut short after an Achilles injury in Week 2 forced him to injured reserve, but has been a mainstay in Atlanta's defense since 2008, his rookie year. Biermann is a versatile chess piece for defensive coordinator Mike Nolan to move around. Having extra bulk up front in the form of hulking pair Paul Soliai and Tyson Jackson should take the heat off Biermann and present more one-on-one opportunities. All reports indicate Biermann's rehab is on schedule, and although players' explosiveness can sometimes be compromised after an Achilles injury, Biermann could still be a decent DE3/4 or LB4 depending on how he is classified.
