TE Travis Beckum - Seattle Seahawks
|6-3, 243||Born: 1-24-1987||College: Wisconsin||Drafted: Round 3, pick 0|
2011 Week 3 vs PHI (1 / 1 / 2 / 0 rec)
Travis Beckum has a long way to go as a reliable and productive TE even in this TE depleted offense. He was not on the field a lot and failed to pick up the first down on an easy play in which he fell over and was tackled short on 4th down. He has a lot to prove to the Giants.
2011 Week 6 vs BUF (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Beckum was only targeted once very early in the game but was not able to complete the catch. The emergence of Jake Ballard has really limited his opportunities in this offense.
2011 Week 13 vs GB (1 / 1 / 67 / 1 rec)
Travis Beckum made one catch in this game, however good, but was promptly not heard from again. Beckum used his speed to blaze past a GB DB, haul in a perfect pass and run around the S Burnett for a huge play to start the game. Beckum's name was never called again however and it may have been a one catch wonder.
2011 Week 17 vs DAL (3 / 2 / 13 / 0 rec)
Travis Beckum has failed to replace the void left by TE Jake Ballard with his injury. Beckum has shown legitimate skills to be a good receiving TE for the Giants but has to fight more to gain trust from Manning which will lead to more passes. Beckum has a shot at a big play as he was open running down the field but Manning failed to see him and checked it down short instead.
2011 Week 20 vs SF (5 / 4 / 16 / 0 rec)
With Jake Ballard ailing, Beckum got most of the receiving work from the tight end position, but he was only a checkdown option and never did damage in downfield routes as he did in college at Wisconsin.
2011 Week 21 vs NE (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Beckum tore his ACL on a non-contact injury in the first half.
2010 Week 1 vs CAR (2 / 2 / 11 / 0 rec)
Beckum entered the game early when Boss went down with head and neck injuries. As is normally the case for the Giants tight ends, he spent much of his time blocking, but did manage to catch a pair of passes for 11 yards. If Boss misses time, Beckum might see a bump up in targets, but if the line continues to play inconsistently, then he may also be called upon to block instead.
2010 Week 4 vs CHI (2 / 1 / 25 / 0 rec)
Beckum was worked in as the second TE and in some four receiver sets. He made a 25 yard reception on play action pass.
2010 Week 5 vs HOU (2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)
Beckum was targeted one time on a short pass late in the first quarter and then resumed his blocking duties. He is well behind Boss in the tight end pecking order.
2010 Week 6 vs DET (1 / 1 / 1 / 1 rec)
Beckum only had one catch but it was a big one for a touchdown. After two straight Brandon Jacobs runs were stuffed, Beckum scooped a very low Manning pass for a touchdown in the end zone. It showed very good hands as the pass was low and he was moving. Beckum isn't often used but in a pinch, Manning will look to him.
2010 Week 7 vs DAL (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Beckum lined up split out and was on the field for some of the Giants offense including a target from Eli.
2010 Week 12 vs JAX (1 / 1 / 29 / 0 rec)
Beckum only had one catch, though he showed good athleticism on hauling the ball in and fighting for a little extra real estate. For the most part, when he was in the game, he blocked.
2010 Week 15 vs PHI (1 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)
Backup tight end Travis Beckum caught one short pass for a four yard gain and a first down on second and short in the second quarter for the Giants. Beckum is mostly a blocking tight end and/or a fullback and has no fantasy value.
2009 Week 3 vs TB (2 / 2 / 8 / 0 rec)
Beckum had a few short catches, but didn't display any eye-popping skills that would demand more work in the passing offense.
2009 Week 5 vs OAK (2 / 2 / 12 / 0 rec)
Beckum made one leaping catch early and a broke a tackle to get some extra yards on his other target, but he is going to be a marginal part of the passing game with the Giants having three quality young wide receivers.
2009 Week 8 vs PHI (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Rookie tight end Travis Beckum had one target on a short route that Philadelphia CB Asante Samuel recognized and jumped, resulting in an interception. Beckum is well behind Kevin Boss for playing time and does not see enough targets for fantasy consideration.
2009 Week 17 vs MIN (2 / 2 / 16 / 0 rec)
Travis Beckum caught two short passes against the Vikings in Week 17. The backup tight end grabbed both receptions in the first half on his only two targets for the contest.
