Week 6: at Denver Broncos

All WR vs DEN

FBG says: Neutral matchup. After flashing some hope in their Week 4 matchup with Atlanta, the Titans passing offense went right back into the dumps last week as Marcus Mariota completed just 13 of 22 pass attempts for 183 yards. Mariota was sacked five times in what was a flashback to Week 3 against the Jaguars. Despite having Taylor Lewan back, the Titans offensive line repeatedly buckled under pressure, leaving Mariota with little to no time and a constantly crumbling pocket. This lack of time has led Mariota to lean more on slot receiver Adam Humphries, who has led the team in targets in two of the last three games. Humphries, however, is a low ceiling, low floor option--as shown with his 30-yard outing last week despite leading the team in receptions. Corey Davis had yet another terrible game last week, marking the fourth time in five games in which he has finished with less than 50 receiving yards. A.J. Brown also finished with a lowly stat line last week, while Delanie Walker had it even worse. Walker has now caught just two passes for 14 yards from four targets in his last two games. This came after opening the season as the team leader in targets and receptions through Week 3. Walker should rebound soon enough as he remains one of the most reliable pass-catchers, but his floor must also be lowered based on the poor play from this passing offense as a whole. Despite some clear weaknesses for this Broncos secondary, they actually are limiting opposing wide receivers to just the second-fewest fantasy points per game (PPR scoring) to start the season. While part of this has been due to run-heavy game script, credit must be paid to top cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who has carried this secondary by playing a big part in shutting down the likes of Keenan Allen, Davante Adams, and D.J. Chark. Overall, however, this Broncos cornerback group is being put in a rough spot with Bryce Callahan indefinitely sidelined, Isaac Yiadom playing terribly before being benched in Week 4, and new starter De'Vante Bausby getting carted off the field with a serious season-ending neck injury last week. This all led to the signing of veteran Coty Sensabaugh to come help out. Harris should make it tough on Corey Davis, while A.J. Brown should get the softer matchup against what may be a mix of Yiadom and Sensabaugh. Delanie Walker should have a decent shot at bouncing back as the Broncos have typically struggled against tight ends, giving up seven receptions for 70 yards against the last decent pass-catching tight end they squared off against (Darren Waller in Week 1).
