Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 15 vs SF (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)

He entered the game on the second play of the first drive and shifted from the backfield into an empty set to earn a target on a quick throw-out to the left flat for five yards. Barner fumbled away a punt return early in the fourth quarter deep in Atlanta territory after trying to spin off a hit. Tight end Ross Dwelly caused the fumbled and fullback Kyle Jusczyck recovered it and took the ball to the Atlanta one.

2019 Week 13 vs NO (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 6 / 0 rec)

He earned a receiver screen in the left flat on second-and-long and earned a first down past midfield in the middle of the second quarter. Barner took a seven-yard loss after working back to the ball in the flat on a fourth-quarter scramble drill, setting up a 3rd-and-14.

2019 Week 11 vs CAR (2 / 15 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

He outgained Brian Hill in this game for the first three quarters because Atlanta used him on draw plays on second-and-long runs after Carolina would stop Hill on the play before with penetration and run-oriented defense on first downs. He returned a punt up the middle and then up the left sideline for a 78-yard score late in the first quarter. He did a great job reversing field to the middle after the catch and then weaving his way to the boundary. He earned seven yards with a nice spin move against the linebacker on a draw play to get Atlanta into the red zone midway through the second quarter.

2019 Week 10 vs NO (1 / 12 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

He played fullback in a pistol look and took a direct snap to the left end for 11 yards to get inside the Saints 15. Barner earned 22 yards on a punt return in the middle of the second quarter when he made the first man miss after his catch of the punt at the left boundary. He reached midfield with the return.

2019 Week 8 vs SEA (1 / 1 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

He earned a yard up the middle on a run during the second offensive series.
