2017 Week 16 vs CAR (13 / 51 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 4 / 0 rec)

Barber got the start in the backfield. Winston hit him on a checkdown pass on the first offensive play for a short gain. Barber picked up the majority of his rushing yardage on a 34 yard run in the 1st quarter, bouncing off left tackle and tearing up the sideline. Barber hauled in another pass on a short crossing route in the 3rd quarter. He carried the ball inside the Carolina 5 during the 3rd quarter, but was stuffed for no gain. Barber finished well ahead of the other backs with his 15 touches total.

2017 Week 15 vs ATL (13 / 53 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 15 / 0 rec)

In Doug Martin's absence(concussion) Barber was the only Tampa Bay back to receive carries. Jacquizz Rodgers was active, but only returned kicks, seeing no time on offense. Charles Sims was targeted a few times out of the backfield, but did not carry the ball. Barber averaged a solid 4.1 yards against a tough Atlanta run D, but the volume wasn't there as the Bucs played from behind most of the day. Barber lost a fumble inside Atlanta's five yard line near the end of the 2nd quarter, a costly mistake for the Bucs. Barber caught a halfback screen for a short gain at the end of the 2nd quarter. He was targeted again on a shallow out early in the 3rd quarter, breaking a couple of tackles after the catch.

2017 Week 14 vs DET (12 / 58 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)

Barber saw his first snaps early in the 2nd quarter, briefly relieving Doug Martin. After Martin lost a fumble late in the 2nd, Barber was featured in the second half of the game. Barber caught a screen pass and broke several tackles late in the 3rd for a short gain on his only target. Barber carried the ball down to the Detroit 2 yard line late in the 3rd, then was stuffed on the following goal line carry. OJ Howard scored on a play-action pass on the following play. Later in the 4th, Barber ripped a 16 yard run from the Detroit 18, getting tackled at the 2 yard line again. This time, it was backup offensive lineman Leonard Wester who vultured the touchdown from a goal-line set. Barber finished with a solid 4.8 ypc average.

2017 Week 13 vs GB (23 / 102 / 0 rush, 4 / 4 / 41 / 0 rec)

Barber excelled in relief of Doug Martin, who missed the game with a concussion from week 12. Barber led the team in rushing and receiving yards, touching the ball 27 times (Sims-5, Rodgers-3). The majority of Barber's carries were chain-moving gains of 4-8 yards, always falling forward after contact. Barber ran hard, with a low center of gravity and solid vision. He ripped his longest run of 19 yards off right tackle late in the 3rd quarter. Barber unfortunately did not receive the goal-line opportunities that he did in week 12. He was stuffed on a 1st and goal carry from the 3 yard line early in the 4th quarter, then the Bucs botched the next two downs with an incomplete pass and a fumbled snap. Winston fumbled another goal-line handoff to Barber late in the 4th quarter, leading to a Cameron Brate touchdown reception. Barber caught a beautifully designed play-action screen in the 2nd, first faking the handoff then catching the screen with plenty of open field ahead of him for a 34 yard gain. Winston hit him with another checkdown later in the 2nd for a short gain. Barber was targeted on the same play-action screen later that drive, but was tackled at the line of scrimmage. Barber was blown up behind the line of scrimmage on a swing pass late in the 3rd for no gain.

2017 Week 12 vs ATL (5 / 7 / 2 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

It was Jacquizz Rodgers who first got the call to fill in for injured starter Martin, but the Bucs inserted Barber into the backfield late in the 3rd quarter deep in Atlanta territory. Barber took the ball off left tackle and outran the defenders around the corner from the Atlanta 2 yard line for his first touchdown of the day. Barber got the call again at the beginning of the 4th quarter after Charles Sims took a pass down to the Atlanta 2 yard line. He was stuffed on his first attempt around left end, but scored on the next play with a diving effort right up the middle of the formation. Barber finished the game with 5 carries to Rodgers' 8 after Martin left the contest.

2017 Week 11 vs MIA (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 11 / 0 rec)

Barber entered the game late in the 2nd half for a brief series. He was targeted on an out route out of the backfield, catching the ball cleanly but stumbling for a short gain. Fitzpatrick hit him on the same route on the next play for a similar gain. Barber did not carry the ball.

2017 Week 10 vs NYJ (2 / -2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Barber saw himself demoted back to special teams duties after a season-high in carries Week 9. Barber did receive a couple of carries on offense that went for no gain, but appeared to be back behind Martin, Rodgers, and Sims in the backfield pecking order.

2017 Week 9 vs NO (11 / 34 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 20 / 0 rec)

Barber trotted out with the offense halfway through the 2nd quarter and was featured for the rest of the game, except the first series of the 2nd half which briefly featured Martin again. Barber was mildly effective, but didn't have much of a chance with the Tampa Bay passing game in the toilet. Barber hauled in a swing pass on play action for a 1st down in the 3rd quarter, then secured another checkdown pass in the 4th quarter.

2017 Week 4 vs NYG (2 / 2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Barber saw a few snaps in relief of Rodgers in the 3rd quarter, collecting 2 yards on 2 carries with no targets.

2017 Week 2 vs CHI (10 / 47 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Barber entered the game in the 1st quarter, giving Rodgers a breather from time to time. He received a more carries in the 2nd half as Tampa Bay built their lead, finishing the day with 10 carries to Jacquizz Rodgers' 19. Barber was not targeted in the passing game and will likely be just a special teamer once Doug Martin returns.
