Week 7: at Pittsburgh Steelers
Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been passing to set up Arian Foster's running game. With 15/23 for 212 yards, one TD and zero interceptions thrown vs. Indianapolis last week (five sacks taken for -16 yards) and 16/25 for 154 yards, zero TDs and one interception thrown at Dallas two weeks ago (zero sacks taken), there is no compelling reason to insert Fitzpatrick as a fantasy quarterback entering Week 7. He's being asked to be a game manager, and that is the sort of numbers he's delivering. Andre Johnson finally caught a TD last week (12 targets for 7/99/1 receiving), so it may be that he and Fitzpatrick have built some chemistry during regular season after Johnson's ill-advised holdout during OTA's/the early part of training camp. Damaris Johnson (three targets for 3/62/0 receiving) was the second-best receiver for the Texans last week, while DeAndre Hopkins only managed 1/12/0 out of two chances.
The Steelers' pass D ranks 10th in the NFL averaging 225.8 net passing yards allowed per game, with eight passing scores given up balanced by just three interceptions (tied for 21st in the NFL) and nine sacks (tied-23rd). Brian Hoyer threw 8/17 for 210 net yards, one TD and zero interceptions vs. Pittsburgh last week (one sack taken for -7 yards), while Blake Bortles managed 22/36 for 187 net yards, zero TDs and two interceptions (one sack for -4 yards taken) two weeks ago.
Two so-so units clash in this game - neither has a clear edge over the other.
