Week 8: at Tennessee Titans
Mark and Joe say: Neutral matchup. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 21/32 for 262 yards, two TDs and one interception at Pittsburgh, with one sack taken for -1 yard. Houston was actually up 13-0 with three minutes left in the second quarter, but then the Steelers went wild with 24 points scored in the final 98 seconds of the half, and the Texans never quite recovered. DeAndre Hopkins (nine targets for 6/108/0 receiving) and Andre Johnson (nine for 5/77/0) were the main receivers for Fitzpatrick last week, while Arian Foster (3/14/1) and Alfred Blue (1/11/1) handled the TD passes for Fitzpatrick. The Houston passing attack is running well entering Week 8.
Divisonal foe Tennessee has lost and won (respectively) their last two games by a margin of two points in each low-scoring contest (17-19 loss to Washington; 16-14 win over Jacksonville). They gave up 21/28 for 251 yards, one TD and one interception thrown to Washingtons' quarterbacks last week (three sacks for -16 yards), while Blake Bortles was sacked six times for -39 yards on the way to 32/46 for 297 net yards, one TD and one interception at Tennessee two weeks ago. To date, Tennessee has an average of 247.9 net passing yards allowed per game (22nd in the NFL), with 12 passing scores given up vs. eight interceptions (tied for third in the NFL) and 18 sacks (tied for 10th in the NFL) to their credit.
In Tennessee's house this looks like a neutral matchup for Fitzpatrick and the Texans.
