Week 8: vs Detroit Lions
All WR vs DET
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Brock Osweiler had a hard time with his old teammates on Monday Night Football, posting 22/41 for 131 yards passing, zero TDs or interceptions thrown, and one sack taken for zero yards. DeAndre Hopkins was not efficient with his 12 targets, managing 5/36/0 receiving; C.J. Fiedorowicz (seven for 5/35/0) and Will Fuller V also saw seven for 4/22/0. It was not a good day for fantasy owners invested in the Texans' passing attack.
The Lions' pass defense is currently ranked 23rd in the NFL averaging 273.0 net passing yards allowed per game, with 18 passing scores given out vs. just three interceptions and 15 sacks generated - the 18 passing scores allowed is tied with Cleveland for the most given out this season. Last week Kirk Cousins threw 30/39 for 283 net passing yards allowed, with two sacks taken for -18 yards at Detroit. From Week Five to Week Seven of the 2016 season (over the last three weeks), Detroit has averaged 27 fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks (second-most in the NFL); and 24.7 fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers (13th-most); with 7.5 fantasy points given up per game to tight ends (11th-most).
This is a good week for Osweiler to bounce back against the shaky Lions' secondary.
