Summary

Mitchell Trubisky's production shot up in his second year as an NFL starter and first under Matt Nagy and Mark Helfrich. As the result of a well-designed offense featuring motion and quick-game concepts, Trubisky's completion rate zoomed to 66% and even more notably his touchdown rate more than doubled from a regression-worthy 2.1% in 2017 to 5.5% in 2018. To quibble, Trubisky's interception rate rose to higher than the NFL average but the positive strides in Year 2 were otherwise positive across the board. On tape, Trubisky's game had the growing pains of a quarterback lacking refined accuracy on deeper routes and tighter windows outside a few choice games were the Bears' offense ran roughshod over an opponent. Trubisky's weapons are above average with an electric running back (Tarik Cohen) and quality WR1 (Allen Robinson), WR2 (Anthony Miller) and tight end (Trey Burton) working in the optimized offensive scheme.
