Summary

Prior to the 2017 season, Greg Olsen was one of the best tight ends in the league. He became the first tight end to reach 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons and he consistently finished in the Top 10 - he did so seven times in 10 seasons. A freak foot injury in 2017 grounded his placement among the league's best. Another foot injury, separate from the first, but likely related, ended his 2018 season early. Carolina drafted Ian Thomas last year to be Olsen's eventual replacement, but if healthy, Olsen can still be an effective option for the Panthers offense. He recently indicated to the Charlotte media that his main goal is to rehabilitate his foot and be ready for the 2019 season. If fully recovered, Olsen has the experience and ability to regain his Top 10 form and is worth a roster spot as a TE2 in 2019. (May 3)
