Summary

Vance McDonald finally had the breakout season we've all been waiting for. The athleticism and skill as a receiver has always been there with his game, but injuries really took a toll on McDonald's career path. In 2018, McDonald played in 15 games, running 369 routes, getting targeted 73 times, catching 50 passes for 610 yards and four touchdowns. He split time with Jesse James in 2018, but James was mostly used as a blocker. James is gone and so is WR Antonio Brown, so the Steelers will be looking for players like McDonald to pick up the slack. His receiving totals should get a slight bump due to an increased role if he can stay healthy. McDonald could due to be a little more consistent with his game as he didn't record over 50 yards receiving in a contest after Week 6. We'll see if he can fix those issues and become even more of a weapon in 2019. Fantasy GMs should consider McDonald a low-end TE1 this season. (May 10)
