Summary

No runner has gained 1,000 yards rushing in three seasons under Doug Pederson. Despite the lack of individual success, the team has been wildly successful on the ground. Philadelphia's running backs rank 4th (behind New Orleans, Dallas, and New England) with 4,840 rushing yards over Pederson's tenure. Howard - acquired in a trade from Chicago - fell out of favor with head coach Matt Nagy but is a proven workhorse. He has 778 carries for 3,370 yards and 24 touchdowns in three seasons. He'll be a key part of this year's committee, but his fantasy value will come down to two things: his role at the goal-line, and how quickly rookie Miles Sanders wins over the coaching staff. As to the former, Howard should get the first shot at the goal-line work. As to the latter, Howard's limitations as a receiver and Sanders' well-rounded game could lead to a 1a/1b situation very quickly. In an era with few workhorses, Howard has fantasy value as a low-end No. 2, but it's not without risk as his role could evolve over the course of the season. (September 2)

Eagles | Jordan Howard limited (Thu Dec 12, 05:38 PM) - Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 12.

Our View: Howard remains in a holding pattern, still not cleared for contact but getting limited practices. Consider him droppable with the emergence of Boston Scott.

Eagles | Philadelphia's Thursday practice report (Thu Dec 12, 04:39 PM) - Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor (knee), DE Derek Barnett (ankle) and OT Lane Johnson (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 12. RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) and CB Jalen Mills (elbow) were limited. LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (concussion) practiced in full.

Our View: Agholor doesn't appear to be closer to playing this week. Greg Ward could be a target vacuum against Washington this week as the healthiest receiver for the Eagles.
