Summary
The Blake Bortles experience is officially over in Jacksonville as the team released him and signed Nick Foles to a four-year, $88 million contract. The former Super Bowl MVP brings both playoff experience and leadership with him to Jacksonville. Coach Doug Marrone emphasized that the acquisition of Foles gave the Jaguars consistency at the quarterback position and that was something that was missing over the years. "I like that you know what you're getting. The consistency, the nothing really rattles him. You talk to coaches that have been around him and they say nothing ever really rattles him. He takes information. He's smart. He knows where he wants to go with the ball. He knows coverages. Those things that were the thing that kind of jumped off to me outside of what you can see on the tape and playing on the big stage and being ready and being prepared." Now out of the shadows of Carson Wentz in Philadelphia, Nick Foles is the guy in Jacksonville from day one of the 2019 season and will have the opportunity to play a full season as the team's starting quarterback. Jaguars | Gardner Minshew back in the saddle (Mon Dec 2, 02:04 PM) - Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew was named the starting quarterback by head coach Doug Marrone for Week 14 versus the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Dec. 2, taking over for Nick Foles. Our View: Foles couldn't get it done against the Buccaneers, so Marrone is going with the rookie. Perhaps that has ruffled some feathers with Tom Coughlin, so Marrone may be coaching his last few games with the Jaguars over the course of the next month.link to story Jaguars | Gardner Minshew throws for 147 yards (Sun Dec 1, 06:32 PM) - Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew went 16-for-27 for 147 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13 after replacing QB Nick Foles. Our View: We can't be sure if the Jaguars will play Minshew or Nick Foles next week, or who the head coach will be. It's better for the Jaguars fantasy options if Minshew plays.

Our View: Foles was terrible early, giving up the ball three times to Tampa Bay. He hasn't looked good since he returned. The Jaguars committed a lot of guaranteed money to him but he's their second best quarterback. We'll see who starts against the Chargers next week, but you should hope for Minshew if you rely on any Jaguars in your lineup.
