Summary

The 2019 San Francisco backfield is as crowded as any in football, and Breida is no lock to return anything close to RB2 value. But if his 2018 was any indication, he certainly boats the upside to do so. Last year, with Jerick McKinnon taken out of commission early, Breida broke out and landed as fantasy's PPR RB28 (per game). He posted 1,075 scrimmage yards despite missing 2 full games and chunks of 4 others as he fought through a nagging ankle sprain. And his efficiency was top-notch: Breida's 6.0 yards per touch landed ninth among qualifying running backs. It made for a great story, and Breida certainly showcased real ability (and RB2 upside). Unfortunately, this backfield remains a jumble, boasting 5 different runners that have posted a 90-yard game over the last 2 seasons. As a result, expectations should be tempered, and Breida needn't be targeted before the RB4 range. There's plenty of potential in play, but also a floor near the bottom of a typical fantasy roster. Our View: The 49ers are going to be at home for the NFC Championship Game as the No.1 seed in the conference. Their defense is playing at a high level and their offense can beat you up with the ground game. We'll see if the Packers or the Seahawks are the team traveling to play the 49ers next Sunday.
