Outlook

As you no doubt remember, Williamson was the bounty the Vikings ended up with in the Randy Moss trade. Now the Vikings have given up on him and he's a Jaguar. Williamson is only 25 years old, so there is still time for him to turn in to a productive player. However, his history of drops and inability to gain much yardage after the catch mean there is a lot left for him to work out. We expect Williamson will benefit from a change of scenery, but with a number of solid veterans ahead of him, it is unlikely Williamson will make a fantasy splash this season.

2007 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Williamson, like all of the Viking receivers, was not much of a factor in the game. Williamson did make a tough catch on his first reception with a 13 yard slant and was hit as he caught the ball and managed to hang on. He also had a six yard reception. He did carry the ball once on a triple reverse, but gained just three yards. Tarvaris Jackson did target Williamson deep once, but overthrew him.

Week 2 - Williamson did very little early on and eventually left the game with a hamstring injury.

Week 6 - Williamson's big play came on a deep pass which he converted for a sixty yard touchdown, though was not used on deep routes after this early touchdown, with teammate Robert Ferguson seeing the majority of such routes as the game went on.

Week 7 - Williamson finished with a lone 21 yard reception. He added five more yards on a last second lateral play. He was targeted a couple of times deep down field, but Tarvaris Jackson was unable to connect.

Week 11 - Williamson caught all three of the balls that were thrown his way and made a nice grab while going to the turf on Sidney Rice's second passing attempt of the game. He also averaged 21 yards on three kickoff returns.

Week 15 - Williamson was inactive for this game, but just to note that he is healthy and would likely replace Rice in the starting lineup if the opportunity arises.

Week 16 - Williamson was the second most targeted receiver for the Vikings. He caught five of the nine balls thrown his way for 39 yards. There were a couple of times were he caught the ball out of bounds, and one time he stepped out before he caught the ball.
