Best Case
Michael Vick was arguably the fantasy MVP last year as he went undrafted in many leagues but ended as the most productive fantasy signal caller on a per game basis. In his prime in Atlanta, Vick was a productive fantasy player but largely because of his unusually productive rushing prowess. Last year he provided not only his requisite rushing skills, but evolved into an effective passer, as well. Athletically, Vick has few peers, and he has the arm strength to make any throw on the field. His supporting cast, led by the trio of RB LeSean McCoy and WRs Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson, provides him ample opportunity to rack up the stats week in, week out.
Worst Case
What makes Vick special is also his greatest weakness -- his mobility. There are times when Vick's open field running put him at risk of violent hits in a way that other QB's never face. As a result, he's a good bet to miss time during the season. It's worth pointing out that in spite of last year's MVP-caliber production, Vick doesn't have the longest track record as an accurate passer. Some regression this year can't be disregarded. The Eagles offensive line has seen better days, and if new OL Coach Howard Mudd can't rebuild the cohesiveness of the unit, it could be tough sledding for Vick against better pass rushing defenses.
Outlook
Michael Vick will be one of the first QBs drafted in every league this year. Unlike last season, his owners are going to need him to produce at an elite level to get value back for their selection. The good news is he seems well suited to deliver on those expectations. He's got a young, explosive supporting cast, a proven offensive system with good coaches, and will benefit from an offseason (if there is an offseason) as the #1 passer -- something he didn't have last year.

Why he is undervalued
according to one of our writers (based on an ADP > 250 on Aug 17 --- go here for the complete article)Anthony Borbely - Last season, Vick finished fourth in QB scoring and was only 10 points away from the top spot...and he only played 12 games. He would have destroyed everyone in scoring had he played in all 16 games. Vick's running ability creates a huge different between him and any other QB with respect to fantasy points. While Vick's propensity for injuries is a factor, it is hard to ignore his production. As last year proved, Vick can miss a handful of games and still be near the top of the QB scoring. His per game average is off the charts and his owners have an enormous advantage every week. I think drafting Vick in the mid to late first round is a no brainer and considering his ADP is 14, he represents great value in drafts.
Why he is overvalued
according to four of our writers (based on an ADP > 250 on Aug 17 --- go here for the complete article)Clayton Gray - Yes - Michael Vick was phenomenal and single-handedly won some fantasy contests in Week 10. Still, there are two reasons to worry. First, despite becoming more of a pocket passer, his style still lends itself to injuries. Second, it's likely that opposing defenses will be more ready for him this year.
Steve Holloway - Vick has played in all 16 games only once in his eight NFL seasons. His age of 31 years is usually not a detriment to QBs, but his style of play, injury history and age could be a lethal combination that does not end well. Another factor to consider is the improvement of Philadelphia's defense. Last season they ranked 22nd in scoring and 16th in yards allowed per play. Their many free agent acquisitions should improve the defense significantly in 2011. It is possible that the Eagles defensive improvement could actually slow the offense some as they try to control the clock. Jeff Pasquino - Relying on Michael Vick to be the top quarterback once again might be asking for trouble, and the position is relatively deep this year (at least seven QBs are worth stud consideration). The Eagles do throw quite a bit and Vick can run it in too, but investing in a quarterback in the first round - especially one with a history of not playing 16 games a year -- seems like asking for trouble to me. Mark Wimer - Vick is a big injury risk - he's never played a full 16-game schedule in his career, and missed four games last year due to cracked ribs. His A/C joints in both shoulders have caused problems during his years in Atlanta before he went to prison. Speaking of prison, Vick is still associating with an entourage that puts him at risk for additional legal difficulties with his supervised release (aka. parole) terms. He's got lots of intangible risks to consider.Latest News
Eagles | Michael Vick most disliked athlete (Wed Feb 8, 09:59 AM) - Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick is tied with pro golfer Tiger Woods atop an overall list of the most-disliked athletes with scores of 60 percent disliked, according to a poll published by Forbes magazine. Vick led the list despite being tied with Woods because Woods had fewer 'dislike a lot' responses in the poll, Forbes reported. Our View: And yet, the dogfighting controversy has mostly died down, and hecklers have found enough from Vick's game last year to avoid bringing up the charges that got him thrown in prison.link to story

2011 Game Summaries
Week 1 - Vick was hot and cold in this one. When he was moving the chains, he made it look easy; and when the Rams were able to contain him, he really struggled. He set the tone on the opening play, scrambling for a 9 yard gain. Vick didn't go down easily, which helps him to put up big rushing numbers but is also exhibit A in why he won't likely be playing 16 games for your fantasy squad: when he went down, it was often the result of a very hard hit. His longer throws were alarmingly accurate, and he wasn't afraid to throw into coverage -- even double coverage -- if he thinks his receiver has a chance to win the battle. In the first half, he established a pass-first mentality, but then switched things up in the second and gained a lot of yardage on the ground. The good overshadowed the bad, but on the down-side, he was blind-sided and lost a fumble inside the red zone, after a long, drive from inside their own 20. His favourite target was far and away DeSean Jackson, who rarely disappointed when he threw it his way. One way to look at Vick's game is that he had a good but unspectacular stat line; another is to realize that he had three golden missed opportunities -- such as a perfect long throw being dropped, that easily would have been a 90 yard touchdown. For all of his first half struggles, Vick toyed with the Rams in the second half, running for first downs at will, and finding Jackson all over the field when he had to scramble.
Week 2 - Vick was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for 3 quarters for before bumping helmets with a teammate and departing with what team officials are calling a 'slight concussion'. The uneven part of his performance was due to the Flacons game plan which called for someone from the front 7 to shadow him on every play. When forced from the pocket Vick seldom had room to explode and he often felt pressure from all sides. This pressure forced 3 fumbles (2 of which he lost) and an INT (a result of a corner blitz). On the good side when he choose to stay in the pocket he mostly made good decisions with the ball and was feeding the ball very heavily to Jeremy Maclin en route to 2 TD tosses. All in all he was headed for a 300 yd night before he left the game and finished with 242. It remains to be seen whether Vick's concussion will force him to sit out week 3.
Week 3 - There is a good argument to say that Michael Vick should have been sat down for this game. Vick was coming off a concussion the previous week and takes a lot of hits for a relatively small body which is never a good combination. Vick did not look comfortable in this game from the start and you could sense he was not right. He turned the ball over only once but was very lucky and could have had a lot more. A simple deflected pass that could have easily been intercepted by NYG fell harmlessly to the dirt early on. Vick was almost picked off again by LB Boley as he did not appear to see him in the throwing lane and threw it right to Boley who was just out of reach to make the play. Vick was lucky again as a NYG almost intercepted a pass in the giants end zone and LT Peters was in the right place at the right time to catch a ball that was fumbled by Vick and flew wildly in the air. Vick did make several terrific throws on the run as he moved horizontally to avoid pressure a lot. He also made an amazing throw with touch over NYG defenders to Maclin. Vick's athletic ability bought him a lot of time outside of the pocket to make throws but he paid for his at times by taking several big shots. The Giants were also able to stop Vick twice on the goal line as he tried to sneak it in for the touchdown. Vick was completely out of synch with his teammates and was not in the right frame of mind as the Giants were battering him down in a game he would have been better served on the bench healing.
