2007 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Utecht caught a 19 yard pass up the middle in the third quarter on his only reception of the game.

Week 2 - Utecht benefited from the Titans' focus on stopping the long ball. He was targeted five times and caught them all.

Week 3 - Utecht caught the only pass thrown his way.

Week 7 - Like Moorehead, Utecht was targeted once in the first series of the game and was never thrown to again.

Week 8 - Utecht caught two passes for 41 yards. He had a 30 yard reception on a short pass that he caught over the middle and was finally pushed out of bounds at the Carolina 43 yard line. Utecht had the only turnover for the Colts. He caught a short pass and was immediately hit and fumbled. The play was reviewed and upheld. It gave the ball to Carolina at the Colts 14 yard line. Utecht was bailed out by the Colts defense when they intercepted Testaverde in the end zone.

Week 10 - Ben Utecht had an opportunity to shine with Dallas Clark inactive for this game, but was actually outplayed by backup Bryan Fletcher. Utecht caught three passes for 30 yards on four targets, but Manning appeared to favor Fletcher, though Utecht known as more of a pass receiver was likely receiving more attention.

Week 11 - Utecht saw limited action in relief of Dallas Clark.

Week 12 - Utecht was targeted four times in the first half and scored on a short pass from Manning on a five yard diving grab. He caught all of the balls thrown his way, but was not utilized in the second half.

Week 13 - Utecht saw three of his targets in the first half, and showed good hands, and some nice running ability on a couple of his receptions.

Week 14 - Utecht started the game as a second tight end, and wound up catching both of his targets for short to medium gains.

Week 15 - He was the red zone target on fourth and goal in the first half but couldn't make the catch. Utecht caught three passes for 42 yards but left the game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury and did not return.
