Outlook
A former 1st round pick who signed a $25 million contract extension last year, Thomas is coming off a very disappointing season in which he admitted that he "slacked off." His sack total dropped from 8.5 to 2.5 and he was just generally ineffective in all aspects. Thomas is expected to enter the season as a starter, but the Jets made a clear effort to upgrade the OLB spots when they signed Calvin Pace and drafted Vernon Gholston. A rededicated effort from Thomas should lead to a rebound season for him and will help the overall Jets pass rush, but he'll probably wind up in a platoon situation with Gholston by midseason.
