2007 Game Summaries
Week 1 - Thomas saw limited action and wound up with negative yardage, but he's a better blocker at this point than Lynch. There was a good bit of talk that Thomas would share more time with Lynch at least early on but from this game, it looks like the Bills are going to go with Lynch as their featured guy.
Week 2 - Thomas' only rushing attempt was a three yard gain that was called back due to a penalty. Thomas played mostly on passing downs because he is better at pass protection than Marshawn Lynch. He was targeted once as a safety valve. He also recovered a Losman fumble on a fourth down play, but was not able to get past the line of scrimmage.
Week 3 - Thomas came into the game for the Bills on a couple of third down plays but he did not touch the ball.
Week 4 - Thomas had two rushing attempts for four yards. He was targeted once and muffed the catch. In fact, he looked more like a volleyball player, who was trying to set up a teammate; the pass was batted up and nearly intercepted
Week 5 - Thomas did not have a rushing attempt, but he caught both balls thrown his way and did a very good job pass blocking for Edwards.
Week 7 - Thomas had three rushing attempts. His best run netted seven yards off left tackle. Thomas also had a four yard run negated by a penalty.
Week 9 - Thomas had one catch and played a minimal role in Sunday's game.
Week 10 - After Lynch left the game Thomas replaced him in the lineup without much effect.
Week 11 - Thomas started in place of injured RB Marshawn Lynch. He was generally ineffective against the New England defense. The team fell behind quick and the running game was not utilized much beyond the first quarter.
Week 12 - The veteran carried 15 times against the stout Jaguars run defense but only managed to average 3.1 yards per carry. Thomas was more effective as the leading Bills' pass receiver, catching eight balls for 45 yards. He scored their only passing touchdown when he caught a short swing pass in the flat, broke a tackle at the two yard line, and dove far enough for the ball to barely cross the plane of the goal line.
Week 14 - Thomas was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week with a torn calf muscle. With Buffalo's rookie running back tandem looking good, Thomas' future in Buffalo may be short lived.
