2007 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Smith was a surprise to be ready for this game. As late as Saturday, it looked like his sore groin might keep him out. He played but failed to be a significant part of the offense, only being targeted twice. It seemed like throughout the game, the Eagles went to three and four WR sets as opposed to having Smith in the game.

Week 2 - Smith had two catches for 12 yards in the first half. He did not have any catches in the second and was not a factor.

Week 4 - Smith was listed as out and did not play due to recent surgery to clean up scar tissue in his groin.

Week 6 - Smith returned to the lineup and saw two targets from quarterback Donovan McNabb. He turned his two targets into one reception for a total of eight yards.

Week 9 - Smith appeared to play a full compliment of snaps this week, and caught two passes for 34 yards on four targets. He looked to be over his nagging groin injury, and showed good quickness turning a short pass over the middle into a 23 yard gain. Later in that drive Smith made a nice catch down the right sideline in the endzone but was out of bounds, as McNabb lead him too far.

Week 10 - Smith had the second most catches of any Eagles player, including an eight yard touchdown in the third quarter. He also lost a fumble on his first catch of the game, on a play where he was running after the catch and had the ball knocked out when he was trying to move the football from one hand to the other.

Week 11 - Smith was a primary target in the game and caught two passes for 31 yards in the first half. He would catch two more passes for only 13 yards in the second half. His biggest impact may have been his holding penalty that negated a 46 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Week 12 - All of Smith's receptions came in the second half, and all three grabs resulted in first downs for the Philadelphia offense.

Week 13 - Smith was used when the Eagles first tried to establish their offense. He was targeted on the first two plays, but was unable to catch either pass. It seemed like the conditions affected Smith more than any other offensive player as he seemed to slip on short passes. Even when he was able to make a catch he would slip and fall before he was able to gain any extra yardage.

Week 14 - Smith saw four targets, but he was only able to record one catch for eight yards.
