2007 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Sellers caught both of his targets coming out of the backfield, and proved just as tough as ever to bring down. He had several broken tackles on his two touches.

Week 2 - Sellers had four carries for eight yards in all short yard situations in the first half but did not get a carry in the second half.

Week 5 - This was possibly the biggest game of Mike Sellers' career in terms of offensive production, he posted 24 yards on five carries, including a one yard touchdown run. Sellers also hauled in three passes for 36 yards, capped off by an eight yard touchdown reception. It has been reported in the media that Sellers has been lobbying Coach Joe Gibbs for more short yardage touches, and it appears that Coach Gibbs is listening.

Week 6 - Sellers averaged just over 4.6 yards on three first half rushes and caught his only pass in the second quarter.

Week 7 - Sellers continues to factor into the Washington Redskins game plan, especially in short yardage situations. Sellers posted 11 yards on three receptions and had a surprising five carries for 11 yards. Sellers was held out of the end zone however.

Week 8 - Sellers started as Portis' lead blocker, and added one rushing attempt.

Week 9 - Sellers started as Portis' lead blocker, but contributed most of his stats through his three dump off catches.

Week 10 - Sellers failed to gain a first down on his only carry, a third and one where he attempted to dive over the pile but failed. He later left the game with an undisclosed injury.

Week 11 - Sellers caught both of his targets for 13 yards. Despite his size, Sellers is a good athlete, and a dangerous weapon catching the ball out of the backfield. Though he did not have an opportunity to score this week, he is generally worked into the gameplan in goal line packages.

Week 14 - Sellers scored on a one yard run from the Bears one yard after a 54 yard reception by RB Clinton Portis on Washington's first drive of the second half. It was his only carry of the game.

Week 15 - Sellers caught one pass out of the backfield and spectacularly hurdled a Giants defender en route to a 19 yard gain.

Week 16 - Sellers played his normal role of getting a few touches and blocking most of the night. There was a scare he was hurt in the third quarter, but he eventually got off of the field under his own powers.
