Best Case
Redman enters training camp penciled in as the No. 1 QB. If he plays well during preseason and keeps the offense on an even keel during regular season, Redman could keep the top job in Atlanta. Assuming Laurent Robinson rises to the challenge of being elevated to the No. 2 WR and that either Ben Hartsock or Martrez Milner can fill Alge Crumpler's shoes capably, Redman will have the weapons he needs to throw down some solid games during 2008. He could be a decent QB2 in fantasy leagues this year, worthy of a start when the matchup is favorable.
Worst Case
Redman could falter in his comeback. He is working with a new coaching staff and system this year, which means he's back to square one like everybody else on the team. He has never played a full slate of 16 games during his NFL career, so we don't know how his arm will hold up under the strain of being the top QB entering training camp. The departure of Alge Crumpler deprived Redman of a reliable receiver, and if Laurent Robinson bombs as the team's No. 2 wide receiver, Redman would have a lean stable, making completions elusive. Rookie Matt Ryan will be breathing down Redman's neck for playing time. If Redman is less than impressive, he could wind up on the bench sooner rather than later.
Outlook
Redman is a veteran place-holder for Matt Ryan entering 2008. If he plays well and the rookie struggles to acclimate to the NFL, Redman will play for at least the first half of the season until Ryan is ready for the starting job. While Redman is the No. 1 QB, he will likely only occasionally have a performance that is fantasy worthy - when his matchup is favorable. Redman could find a role as part of a three-player rotation for an owner who is managing a roster of mediocre QBs.

2007 Game Summaries
Week 10 - Redman came into the game for one play when Harrington got hurt. Redman completed the pass for nine yards.
Week 13 - Redman replaced Harrington to begin the fourth quarter and really ignited his team. He threw 24 times in one quarter (versus Harrington's 34 attempts through three quarters), nine of which were intended for Roddy White; two were for touchdowns, and one was a costly interception with under two minutes to play that foiled the comeback.
Week 14 - Redman started for the first time this year. He showed ability to throw the ball accurately, but could not consistently move the chains. It seemed like he threw into coverage often on the night, but he did manage to throw for 298 yards and two touchdowns. His interception came on a well thrown ball to Michael Jenkins that went through his hands and right to Roman Harper who returned it for a touchdown.
Week 15 - Chris Redman had a nightmare of a game in the little time he was on the field. For the game, he finished four of 15 for just 34 yards, zero scores and two interceptions. Redman threw a pick on the first drive that was returned for a touchdown, and that score, along with the Tampa Bay kickoff return for a touchdown, helped put Atlanta in a position where they were forced to make plays through the air, and they just couldn't come through. As a result, Tampa Bay used their running game to control the clock and keep the Falcons off the field, a big reason why Redman had only 15 attempts. Redman also lost a fumble.
Week 16 - Chris Redman played an excellent game rallying the Falcon offense to score on three of its last four possessions. He was 28 for 42 for 315 yards and two touchdowns, including a pretty 74 yard touchdown pass to Laurent Robinson. He looked poised at times in the pocket and nearly pulled out this game. He did throw one crucial interception in the red zone, ending an early Falcon drive in the first quarter. Redman hit eight different receivers on the day.
Week 17 - Redman had an excellent day. Statistically, he was stellar, with four TDs and no interceptions. He also showed some good leadership and rallied the team on a few occasions, scrambling for first downs and in general, fighting for that extra yard or two.
