2007 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Lee caught all four balls thrown his way. It is possible that he saw more playing time in the second half due to Bubba Franks dropping two passes during the game. All of his catches were for short gains, gaining nine on his longest catch.

Week 2 - Lee got involved on the first Packers series of the game, catching two passes for 18 yards. Though targeted two times in the second quarter, he did not catch his next pass until he snagged a 14 yard reception with less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter. Lee followed that up later in the game by scoring the Packers' third touchdown of the game on a three yard pass from Favre.

Week 3 - For the third game in a row, Lee caught four passes. While it's not fair to automatically extrapolate that out over a 16 game schedule, the fact remains that Lee is currently on pace for 64 receptions this year. That would've been good for sixth-most amongst all tight ends a year ago, so it is very clear that Favre is looking for him regularly. He nearly scored for the second week in a row, but was down several inches short of the goal line. He came about as close as a player can come to scoring without actually getting in when his elbow touched down with the ball just shy of the white line late in the fourth quarter.

Week 4 - Lee was Favre's most consistent deep threat for the game. Lee caught passes of 27, 27, ten, and two yards. However, he did fumble after his second 27 yard reception.

Week 5 - Lee was the slightly more productive of the two Packers' tight ends in this game, out gaining Franks by five yards with the same number of receptions.

Week 6 - Lee had the big play of the game for the Green Bay offense making a 60 yard catch and run on the Packers' first play of their second series. On the play, Lee made the catch, bounced off an attempted tackle by CB Carlos Rogers, and raced to the Washington three yard line. The play led to Green Bay's only touchdown on offense. Lee would go on to catch two more passes including a 14 yard reception that led to a Packers field goal.

Week 8 - All three of Lee's catches came on the Packers' third series and all of them went for first downs.

Week 9 - During the early part of the game when the Packers were trying to establish their game plan, Lee was the primary target. Lee was the target of three of the first five passes thrown by Favre, and was wide open on all of his targets in the first half. As the game went on, and Green Bay fell behind, Lee saw his role change as Favre began to involve his receivers into the offense.

Week 10 - Lee had a nice game in his first appearance since signing a nice contract extension. Most of his looks were his traditional quick slant from his tight end position. His touchdown came on a goal line play, with play action and he simply released into the back of the end zone and Favre easily hit him for the touchdown.

Week 11 - Donald Lee made the most of his targets. He was thrown to five times and caught all of the passes for 49 yards with two touchdowns. He scored on passes of 12 and 26 yards. Lee picked up three first downs with two of those coming on his touchdowns. He did not see any other catches inside the red zone.

Week 12 - Lee was unusually quiet, with just one ball thrown his way all game. It wasn't anything he did wrong; just that the Green Bay receivers were having so much success on the outside and down the seam that it made sense to utilize Lee in the pocket to give Favre extra protection against a solid Detroit pass rush. That game plan worked like a charm, as Favre threw 41 passes yet wasn't sacked even once. Lee almost scored at the end of the first half when he caught a short pass from Favre and was taken down at the Lions two yard line but could get no further. Green Bay settled for a field goal on the drive.

Week 13 - Lee only had one catch for three yards in the first half. He caught a big pass over the middle for 22 yards to put the ball deep in Dallas territory. He would add one more pass for five yards late in the game.

Week 14 - After a first half that saw Lee grab three balls for 25 yards, he hauled in his only second half target for 46 yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. After making the catch on the short pass, Lee broke a tackle and fought off a defender on his way to the end zone.

Week 15 - Lee's only catch of the game went for a four yard touchdown. The scoring catch was his fifth in the last six games. Despite going without a catch for the remainder of the game, he did draw a pass interference penalty that extended a Green Bay drive after a third down pass fell incomplete.

Week 16 - Lee was targeted a number of times, but managed to haul in just one two yard reception.

Week 17 - Lee was inactive for this game.

Week 19 - Donald Lee caught two passes for 16 yards on three targets. The Packers had a lot of success on the ground with Ryan Grant, so Lee mainly stayed in the pocket to block for the running game.

Week 20 - Lee caught three passes for 35 yards on four targets. With Brett Favre struggling to get the ball to Greg Jennings and James Jones, Lee was able to provide a couple of nice plays in the game. The first came on an 18 yard reception over the middle in the second quarter. The second came in the third quarter, when Favre found him open at the back of the endzone for a 12 yard touchdown.
