Texans | Arian Foster thankful team brought back Greg Jones (Tue May 7, 02:49 PM) - Houston Texans RB Arian Foster said he is thankful the team brought back FB Greg Jones. "He's gonna help us out," Foster said. Our View: Jones is a force as a lead blocker and will blast open holes for Foster in the Texans ground game. He has almost zero fantasy value but is an important piece to what Houston does offensively. In 2011 Jones was a key reason why Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew was the NFL's leading rusher.link to story

2012 Game Summaries
Week 1 - Jones functioned primarily as a fullback and blocked when almost every time he is on the field.
Week 3 - Jones spent most of the day paving avenues for Jones-Drew, but also had his opportunities to make an impact with the football. He caught a screen pass for six yards when he dragged a defender forward, but then dropped a catch in the flat after an accurate pass from Gabbert. Jones' only carry came on third and one when he pushed his own linemen forward for the first down. Jones attoned for his earlier drop in the flat also by catching a similar pass, but was met by three defenders at the line of scrimmage for no gain.
Week 4 - The fullback received a larger-than-usual workload, catching three passes in the first half alone. Jones’ receptions were quintessential successful plays coming off of play action in the Jacksonville passing game. Once, Jones dragged a linebacker after the catch for 3-4 yards. While not a big fantasy factor, Jones’ blocking and receiving skills can facilitate Jones-Drew’s production and Gabbert’s development as a passer.
Week 14 - Jones was deployed in short yardage situations. During the first quarter, the Jaguars called Jones’ number on a 4th-and-1 play and he converted. Jones also secured two dump-off passes for minimal gains. Jones was utilized as a simple check down option.
Week 15 - On just his fourth rushing attempt of the season, the fullback plunged ahead for minimal yardage against a stacked defensive front.
Week 16 - The starting fullback nearly scored in his limited chances on offense this week. After a short outlet reception early in the game, Jones received a carry at the goal line. He fought hard at the point of attack and was denied just short of the end zone. It was just his fifth carry of the season.
