Best Case

Jarrett's rookie season was a learning experience, with only six catches from the parade of Panther QBs who started at one point or another during 2007. If he can build on last year's experiences and earn some playing time, Jarrett may occasionally post a respectable afternoon as a receiver.

Worst Case

Jarrett landed in hot water this off-season over a DUI charge in North Carolina. In Roger Goodell's NFL, that is not an incident to be dismissed. There is no word on possible club or league sanctions for the problem as the case winds it way through the legal system, but depending on Jarrett's status in the league's substance-abuse program a suspension could be possible. Regardless of that incident, the addition of Muhsin Muhammad and D.J. Hackett will keep Jarrett from making even a marginal fantasy impact in 2008.

Outlook

Even before Jarrett's legal troubles, his fantasy prospects were marginal. As of May 2008, he looks untouchable from the fantasy perspective.

Week 2 - Jarrett was declared inactive prior to the game.

Week 4 - Jarrett caught his first career pass for six yards. It was his only target of the game.

Week 10 - Dwayne Jarrett got into the game and caught two passes for 28 yards. Testaverde looked his way on third down three of the four times he was targeted. He went deep on a couple of passes and caught one for 22 yards. It got Carolina out from deep in their own territory.

Week 11 - Jarrett caught three passes for 39 yards. Two of his three catches went for first downs. More importantly were his incompletes. He was targeted twice in the end zone when Carolina had gotten down to the Green Bay five yard line. The first pass was batted away but the second pass should have been caught. Jarrett had it in his hands but did not secure it and the ball got knocked away by the defender.

Week 12 - Jarrett was able to get into the game. He received two targets but neither pass resulted in a completion. The first pass was a deep ball that was intercepted. The second was another deep pass that was incomplete late in the game.
