2007 Game Summaries
Week 1 - Jackson started his first game in the NFL. He had problems finding space in the running game, which might be attributed to the Eagle's run defense. He had a jittery start dropping an easy pass with a lot of open field ahead of him early, but seemed to bounce back catching four balls after that. He had a couple of moves throughout the game that opened eyes, as he made exceptional cuts in the open field.
Week 2 - Jackson was the primary ball handler for the Packers, but he had a tough time picking up yards on the ground. On the Packers' first play from scrimmage, Jackson took the handoff and carried the ball for an eight yard gain. Unfortunately for him, that would be his longest run of the day. On his next 16 carries, Jackson was only able to average 1.7 yards per rush. Despite his rough day rushing the ball, Jackson did haul in four passes for 24 yards including a 15 yard reception in the third quarter.
Week 3 - The Packers threw the ball 45 times and ran just 13. That's really all you need to know about how effective Jackson was going to be on the day. When the ball was actually in his hands on the ground, he was fairly effective with it against a tough run defense. But those touches were few and far between due to the enormous success Green Bay was having in the passing game. He did salvage his fantasy game by punching in a tough one yard touchdown run late in the contest that all but sealed the win for the Packers. He had initially been stuffed on first and goal, but HC Mike McCarthy went back to him on second down and he pushed it across the line.
Week 9 - Brandon Jackson did not look good when the Packers called on him to give Grant a rest. He seemed to be slow to the hole and was hit behind the line of scrimmage most of his carries. The longest run on the day came on a delayed draw on the first drive of the second half to get better filed position for a punt. Jackson was on the field for the final Packers drive of the game as they were able to move into position for the game winning field goal.
Week 11 - Jackson had three carries for 13 yards. He only came into the game to give Grant a rest. He got a couple of carries at the end of the third quarter and one in the fourth. He didn't see any touches near the red zone.
Week 15 - Jackson's only two carries came on consecutive plays in the fourth quarter as Green Bay was running out the clock.
Week 17 - Jackson came into this contest with 154 rushing yards on the year and he came close to matching that total in this game as he averaged over 5.6 yards on 20 carries. His long run of the game came near the start of the third quarter and covered 46 yards. After appearing to be stopped for a shorter gain, Jackson broke some tackles and showed a burst of speed as headed down the sidelines for the big gain. His 113 yards on the day marked his first 100 yard rushing game of his career. Jackson also contributed in the passing game totaling 22 yards on two receptions.
Week 19 - With Ryan Grant running all over the Seahawks, Brandon Jackson only had two carries through three quarters. He ended up with eight total carries for 34 yards, and looked effective in place of Grant. He had a long carry of 18, and another impressive one of ten in the fourth quarter where he dragged a defender a number of yards to barely get the first down. Jackson's only reception of the game came in the third quarter, when Brett Favre found him short on the right side, and Jackson took it in for a 13 yard touchdown.
Week 20 - Brandon Jackson did not garner any carries, and caught his only target in the game for one yard. Despite Grant highly ineffective throughout the game, Jackson did not play often.
