2012 Game Summaries
Week 1 - The Cardinals seemed to largely ignore Heap until the got close to the red zone. Two of his three catches came inside the red zone and both time he showed good strength to make solid grabs in tight coverage.
Week 2 - Heap was thrown to early and often, as was the case last year with Kevin Kolb under center. He was the Cardinals leading receiver, and also had some missed chances, including being open for a what would have been a TD pass (but was overthrown). He had a first down catch called back on a holding penalty – which showed good rapport with Kolb, getting open while he scrambled. Heap was basically a possession receiver/security blanket for Kolb, getting the ball often but never for many yards at a time. Late in the third quarter, however, he was injured and did not return to the game.
