2007 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Harrison and QB Peyton Manning didn't waste anytime in hooking up for their first score of the season on the second drive of the game. Manning hit him on a perfectly timed pass in the back of the end zone for a 27 yard touchdown. Harrison did a great job of dragging both feet to stay in bounds. Manning did try to hit Harrison again for another touchdown late in the first half when the Colts were in the red zone, but ball fell incomplete. Harrison took a back seat to WR Reggie Wayne in the second half, but did catch a 42 yard pass early in the second half when he beat CB Mike McKenzie deep and was tackled on the two yard line. Harrison finished the game with four receptions for 83 yards and one touchdown.

Week 2 - Harrison was targeted 12 times but only reeled in six of those passes. Late in the second quarter, QB Peyton Manning was drastically off target to Harrison as the two were uncharacteristically not in tune with each other.

Week 3 - Harrison showed why he is Manning's favorite target, catching six of the eight passes thrown his way. He was the focus of the passing game in the fourth quarter when the Colts were moving the ball and trying to extend their lead after the Texans scored to make it 27 - 17 at the start of the fourth quarter. Harrison was able to get open and was in sync with Manning all game.

Week 4 - Posting a meager eight yards on one catch was a product of Champ Bailey's defense and a knee bruise in the second quarter that kept Marvin Harrison out of the second half. No other information was given during the game other than a "bruised knee". The injury happened while Harrison was blocking on a running play and the pile rolled up on the back of his legs.

Week 7 - Harrison was active early, but after the first quarter, he didn't see the field as much and was targeted only twice. Apparently he is still bothered by his knee injury (Tony Dungy mentioned after the game that he knew Harrison's availability would be limited). Harrison did have one red zone target (an incompletion) near the end of the first half.

Week 9 - Harrison was inactive for the game due to a knee injury. The Colts definitely missed his presence in the lineup.

Week 10 - Marvin Harrison was inactive for this, his fourth game in a row, with a left knee injury.

Week 11 - Harrison was inactive.

Week 15 - Harrison remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Week 19 - Harrison was clearly rusty after a two and a half month layoff. His first reception of the game was a key catch for 17 yards on third and ten late in the first quarter. But the play quickly turned sour when Harrison fumbled after being hit in the legs and San Diego recovered. The Colts were on the verge of driving to go up 14-0, but instead saw the Chargers march downfield the other way for the game-tying touchdown. Late in the game when Indianapolis was driving for the lead and then for the win, Harrison wasn't even on the field.
