Best Case
Just 2 short years ago Geathers became the first Bengal in over a decade to reach double digit sacks. So we know the potential is there. With his new bookend Antwan Odom in place and several other changes in line for the defense. The Bengals hope and expect Geathers to return to glory. The problem for us is that even if he does flourish in the sack column once again, his tackle production has never been worthy of consideration. The best we can realistically hope for is around 30 solo tackles and 8-10 sacks.
Worst Case
In three seasons as a starter Geathers has just once totaled over 3.5 sacks and he has yet to reach the 30 solo tackle mark. If the Bengals defense continues the status quo, Geathers is a candidate to match his production of '05 and '07. Which is to say 26 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Outlook
There is some potential for Geathers to provide useful numbers. Especially for owners in leagues with scoring systems that score heavily on big plays (sacks). However this is a player you should pass over on draft day. If he comes out of the gate hot you can always grab him off waivers.
