2012 Game Summaries
Week 8 - Gaffney’s sole reception occurred during his team’s first drive after halftime. On a 3rd-and-11 play, Gaffney ran a post-corner route down the left sideline and plucked the perfectly thrown Matt Moore pass for a 30-yard gain. The ball was so well thrown that Gaffney didn’t need to make any spectacular moves to secure the catch. This play extended the Dolphins drive that resulted in an Antony Fasano touchdown.
Week 10 - Continuing to operate as the number three receiver, Gaffney did see five targets on Sunday, but only came up with one catch. Gaffney was productive in Washington last season with Rex Grossman as his quarterback, but he offers little to no playmaking ability and turns 32 in December. Signed off the street about a month ago, Gaffney has struggled thus far, only beating out Marlon Moore for the third wide receiver because Moore is a special teamer at best.
