Best Case

Fletcher has been the most consistent IDP option in the NFL over the past six seasons. Six consecutive top twelve finishes in FBG scoring, five in the top six, never totaling less than 94 solos and adding some of the best peripheral stats in the league. Best case? Pretty much the same surrounding cast in the front seven and a defense that might use him a little less in coverage will likely lead to another 95+ solo tackle finish. If the Redskin offense struggles and the secondary continues to limp along, Fletcher could be in line for a career high in solo tackles.

Worst Case

It's hard to find a worst case scenario for Fletcher. Should the team play well enough to keep the defense off the field, Fletcher could lose some tackle opportunity. If new defensive coordinator Greg Blache uses Fletcher in coverage less, his peripheral stats could suffer some. Still, both are awful nitpicky and would drop Fletcher from elite potential to a low level LB1 tier at worst. Since Fletcher has been among the most durable linebackers in the league, injury should not be a major concern.

Outlook

Fletcher's perceived value may have finally caught up with his actual value. A perennial 95+ solo tackle, top five IDP option at linebacker regardless of scheme and surrounding cast, Fletcher has been durable enough to expect that trend to continue again this season. Draft him with confidence as your LB1 in nearly all formats, especially if your competition allows him to fall over concerns about his pre-1980 birthdate.
