Eagles | DC says two doing well at move to OLB (Thu May 23, 02:07 PM) - Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis said DEs Trent Cole and Brandon Graham have done well in their transitions to outside linebacker. Cole and Graham have also received reps at defensive end during organized team activities. link to story Eagles | Early prognosis on OLB roles (Wed May 22, 01:03 PM) - Philadelphia Eagles OLB Connor Barwin will probably play three downs next year and has looked comfortable in practices so far. Trent Cole, however, doesn't look like a cozy fit in the team's new 3-4 defense. He won't be asked to drop back much but must learn to consistently set the edge, and the transition may be difficult. Brandon Graham is also a pass-rushing specialist, but Bill Davis' hybrid scheme probably fits him a little better for sack production. link to story

Outlook
After being a perennial top 10 fantasy DL over the last several seasons, Cole's stock has plummeted in a matter of just one year's time. A very poor 2012 season in which he only registered 3 sacks, combined with a position switch to OLB, has made Cole irrelevant in the majority of shallow and even moderately deep leagues. He should be looked upon as an LB4.
