Best Case
Castillo has struggled through injuries in each of the previous two seasons, but when he's been on the field he's generally been effective. His beast season was in 2006, when he amassed 28 tackles (plus 10 assists) and 7 sacks in ten games. That made him the #11 fantasy DL in terms of points per game. His sack total dropped to 3.5 last season (again in ten games), but he had a number of near misses that could have become sacks with better luck. If Castillo can stay healthy all season, and if he can get to the QB just a hair quicker on a number of plays, he could end up in the top 15 or 20 fantasy DL.
Worst Case
As a 3-4 defensive end, Castillo's role is somewhat similar to that of a 4-3 defensive tackle. Along with his run-stuffing duties, he is primarily an inside rusher on pass plays. While he shows good quickness as an inside rusher, he will never generate as many sacks as the top outside speed rushers. The Chargers rotate their defensive ends to keep them fresh, so Castillo is not a full-time player.
Outlook
Even if Castillo stays healthy all season, his upside potential is limited because he'll never be a double-digit sack guy. Castillo should be drafted as a DL4 or DL5 in twelve-team leagues.
