Best Case
In many ways, last year was David Carr's best case. After taking a historic beating in Houston for years, and then washing out in Carolina, Carr's career trajectory was rocketing in the wrong direction until he won the right to back up Eli Manning as the Giants QB2. For Carr, the best hope is the he sees a game or two playing behind that awesome Giants line as an injury fill in. If he can avoid the pass rush, Carr has the accuracy and arm to put up surprisingly strong fantasy numbers for a few games.
Worst Case
The worst case for Carr would be the best case for many backups. If Eli Manning were to get seriously hurt early in the season, Carr would be forced into the starting lineup. And the pressure of having to carry a contending team for more than a week or two would probably overwhelm Carr much as it did in his previous cities.
Outlook
As the backup to a clear franchise passer, Carr's only fantasy value comes in the event of an injury. Carr isn't worth a draft pick unless Eli Manning is hurt before your draft. Like any backup on a good offensive team, don't completely forget about Carr though as a waiver wire option in season if he gets the opportunity.

2008 Game Summaries
Week 5 - Carr entered the game in mop up duty, and orchestrated a touchdown scoring drive that was mainly setup by Ahmad Bradshaw's running, and a defensive pass interference call on a deep Mario Manningham pass. His only completion on the game was a five yard touchdown to Sinorice Moss.
Week 17 - David Carr played the whole second half and it was a good chance to see if he has improved since Houston. He was precise with his passes and seemed calm in the pocket. However, he fell short on the last drive that could have put the Giants up by more than a field goal. It wasn't a horrible performance but it was not worthy of a former number one draft pick either. Carr did end up with a 134.7 passer rating.
