2007 Game Summaries
Week 1 - Brown looked out of synch with McNabb throughout the game. It seemed like he could not get open against the Green Bay secondary, and when McNabb did try to target him it seemed either forced into a small space or a poor throw. He dropped one ball, caught one, and all the other targets were well covered or unable to be caught.
Week 2 - Brown was targeted often in the game but unfortunately only managed two catches. McNabb attempted to hit Brown in the end zone for a touchdown early in the second quarter, but the pass sailed high. He caught his first pass on an eight yard reception that got a first down for Philadelphia, but that would be his only catch in the first half. His only other catch would come late in the game but, it would be a big one, as he caught a 19 yard pass on a fourth down.
Week 3 - Brown caught his first pass for 19 yards and a first down in the first quarter, but it would be his only catch in the first half. He added one reception in the second half for four yards. Considering the Eagles' offensive explosion in the game, this was a bit disappointing. Brown was the odd man out in what was a huge week for his counterpart, WR Kevin Curtis.
Week 4 - Brown saw more targets from McNabb, as it seemed like the Giants focused more on Kevin Curtis. Brown had a touchdown reception called back due to an illegal forward pass as McNabb did not get the ball off before the line of scrimmage. Brown was targeted down field two other times, but only caught four passes underneath for a total of 17 yards.
Week 6 - Brown had a nice game, catching six of his seven targets for 89 yards. He made some nice moves in the open field and moved the chains for the Eagles.
Week 7 - Brown was thrown to six times, catching three passes for 44 yards in the passing game and adding one rush for 12 yards for the Philadelphia rushing attack.
Week 8 - Brown was McNabb's most frequently targeted receiver, and finished the game in season highs in receptions and yards. Brown had success getting open almost all afternoon, and beat Antoine Winfield on several plays. He was injured on the Eagles' second to last possession in the game and was replaced by Greg Lewis, missing out on two possible targets which ended up going to Lewis, including one in the end zone.
Week 9 - Reggie Brown caught two passes for 55 yards, both of which came in the first quarter. With the Eagles down early, Donovan McNabb found Brown over the middle, where he changed directions and ran for 45 yards on the Eagles longest play of the game, eventually setting up a Brian Westbrook touchdown. Brown had one drop, and was targeted deep once, but overthrown by McNabb. He was targeted a total of seven times on the day.
Week 10 - Brown had a quiet game until he made a great adjustment on a deep ball that he turned into a 45 yard touchdown.
Week 11 - Brown caught a 46 yard touchdown from QB Donovan McNabb in the first quarter, but the play was nullified after a holding penalty. He would catch two passes for 18 yards in the game.
Week 12 - Brown's first catch of the game came in the first quarter and went for 11 yards. His second reception went for nine yards as he took the ball down inside the Patriots' one yard line. On the play, he tried to reach the ball over the goal line but he stepped out of bounds before the ball broke the plane of the end zone. Brown followed up a third quarter, five yard reception with his second touchdown catch of the year. On the play, the Philadelphia wide out made a tough catch over the middle on a crossing pattern where he had a defender blanketing him. Brown's final catch of the game came in the fourth quarter and went for 12 yards.
Week 13 - Brown saw little action, but he did make the most of his opportunities early. He caught his first two targets, but was unable to make an impact in the second half.
Week 14 - Reggie Brown had a decent day as he saw nine targets, bringing in seven of them for 71 yards. Receiving a team high number of targets, Brown made the most of his production as he averaged over ten yards per catch.
Week 15 - Reggie Brown caught four passes for 35 yards on eight targets. He accounted for the only touchdown of the game when Donovan McNabb found him wide open short over the middle for a one yard score. Brown was targeted once deep, but otherwise was used on short and intermediate patterns as the Eagles passing game rarely attempted to stretch the field.
Week 16 - Reggie Brown is improving as a receiver in the Eagles offense. He is versatile enough to find the open spots in the zone defenses and to use his speed on end around plays. Brown has good hands and is able to catch the ball in stride, as evidenced on his touchdown grab in the first quarter. His only missed target was not his fault as Saints defender was able to break on the ball and knock it away at the last second.
Week 17 - Brown led all receivers with 83 yards on five receptions and also carried twice on reverses for nine yards. He also fumbled at the Buffalo three yard line and had the ball bounce into the end zone, but alert Kevin Curtis recovered for the second Eagles touchdown.
