Outlook
Anderson still has the skill set that made him a top ten draft pick in 2007. Though his very disappointing rookie stats don't show it, he has above-average explosiveness for his frame and a good understanding of how to rush the passer. Many young defensive ends take a year to adjust to the professional game before showing big improvement as second year players. Anderson is as good a candidate as any. He's still opposite a pass-rushing force (John Abraham) who will attract the bulk of the attention of the offensive line. And he'll be aligned a little differently this season, which could boost his sack numbers. It may not be reasonable to project a Mario Williams like jump to 45 solos and 12 sacks, but Anderson is a solid DL3-4 pick with upside.
