Week 1 vs. BUF

Rushing: 18 / 62 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets

Williams did the dirty work, running north-south, absorbing punishment, and wearing down the Bills defense with his determination. Williams either bounced off of or pushed back tacklers on a good amount of runs and he actually got more touches than Ronnie Brown.

Week 2 vs. MIN

Rushing: 10 / 30 / 0

Williams ran hard from the start. He split carries pretty evenly with Ronnie Brown, making steady yardage for the most part, but no big gains. He coughed up the ball a little too easily on one carry, at his own 5 yard line, which gave the Vikings their touchdown.

Week 3 vs. NYJ

Rushing: 7 / 28 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets

Williams found it tough sledding against the very stout run defense and was a victim of an early deficit as well. He briefly began to break out near the end of the first half and actually had more carries than Ronnie Brown at that point but started to show ball security issues again. Williams fumbled twice, though one was overturned on replay.

Williams can still play well but if his ball security issues continue, the offense might depend upon him less and less, as it seemed to Sunday night.

Week 4 vs. NE

Rushing: 8 / 56 / 0
Receiving: 4 / 45 / 1 on 4 targets

Ricky can still get it done. His patience, durability, awareness and experience, running behind this stout Dolphins line gave the Dolphins offense the power and variety it needed to keep the inexperienced Patriot defense on the back of their heels. Williams power running set up the play action pass nicely and gave the offense the diversity it needed to move the ball. His TD came on a 28 yard pass when he did some fine acting, pretending to block the outside edge, caught a dump-off pass, and darted toward the end zone, displaying good vision and cutback ability. Williams experience and cunning play are a real asset to this Dolphins attack.

Week 6 vs. GB

Rushing: 13 / 64 / 0
Receiving: 1 / -1 / 0 on 1 targets

Williams is the better straight ahead runner of the committee, and gets nearly equal touches, but the other back, Ronnie Brown, seemed to be given the ball more with the game on the line. Then in overtime, when all they needed was a field goal, Williams got the call to move them a bit closer.

Week 7 vs. PIT

Rushing: 11 / 48 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 2 targets

Williams' straight ahead style seemed to be a better fit against the Steelers, but even so he still had trouble moving the chains. As the game went on, it became evident that he truly was better suited than Ronnie Brown to beat this D; but until late in the game, Brown seemed to get the call more often.

Week 8 vs. CIN

Rushing: 9 / 47 / 1
Receiving: 1 / 2 / 0 on 1 targets

Ricky looked good when he had the ball. Very fast to the hole and thru it. This was a day you would have liked to see Ricky get used a little more. After many quarters of not scoring an offensive touchdown and settling for field goals all the time Ricky finally managed to pound thru the defense near the goal line and score. It was challenged and honestly looked like he might not have gotten in but the ruling on the field was upheld and he scored. Ricky had a sensational scamper right before that carry as well that set Miami up close to the end zone of Cinci. Ricky looked great in this game.

Week 9 vs. BAL

Rushing: 2 / 1 / 0

Hardly involved with the offense. For some reason he came out on the opening drive of the 2nd half and did nothing. He wasn't involved in the flow of the game and I don't understand what Miami was thinking making him start the 3rd quarter when Ronnie Brown had been very effective.

Week 10 vs. TEN

Rushing: 11 / 64 / 0
Receiving: 2 / 6 / 0 on 2 targets

Ricky Williams had the two biggest plays of the day for the Dolphins. After Henne went out injured, the Dolphins were backed up and facing a third and ten. With only a 20-17 lead, and unable to bring in a QB until the 4th quarter, Williams took the handoff from Ronnie Brown and sped forward for 14 yards and a huge first down. Then on the same drive, he took another handoff from Ronnie Brown and went 23 yards on a Titans defense that looked completely confused. On this day, the wildcat was back and played an instrumental part in the Dolphins victory. Williams seemed to have more room when he got the ball than his teammate Ronnie Brown, and he still shows excellent speed for a man his age. Expect to see alot more wildcat, and a greater variety of tricky running plays in the weeks ahead with Tyler Thigpen at QB.

Week 11 vs. CHI

Rushing: 3 / 1 / 0
Receiving: 1 / 12 / 0 on 2 targets

No offensive line to run behind and his number wasn't called much. It was easy to see that Miami had the most talent on their offense at RB but refused to use it in the football game. Just terrible coaching.

Week 12 vs. OAK

Rushing: 20 / 95 / 1
Receiving: 1 / 3 / 0 on 2 targets

Broke a 45 yard TD run towards the end of the game that sealed the victory for Miami. The Dolphins rotated their 2 backs throughout the game and kept them very fresh. That was evident on the TD run by Ricky. Miami controlled the clock all day and their RBs were a major reason why.

Week 13 vs. CLE

Rushing: 10 / 48 / 0
Receiving: 2 / 19 / 0 on 4 targets

Williams, though still getting the short end of the stick in the timeshare with Ronnie Brown, continues to look like the better player. He has good power up the middle, patience, and even made a nice one-on-one move after a catch in the flat, which got him the first down and more. Williams looked almost nimble on an outside run. Almost. Power is still his game, and he fights for his yards, something that Brown seems to lack.

Week 14 vs. NYJ

Rushing: 10 / 34 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets

Williams had no more success than backfield mate Brown did, as the Jets defense was very good at getting to the line of scrimmage to meet either Dolphin running back. Williams ran with power but just couldn't find any room to run against this aggressive run defense.

Week 15 vs. BUF

Rushing: 7 / 19 / 0
Receiving: 5 / 34 / 0 on 6 targets

Also well past his prime and this season really is looking like a guy ready to hang it up. He still is a decent safety valve in the passing game but Buffalo had one of the worst rushing defenses on the season and neither he or Ronnie Brown were able to exploit that situation for most of the day.

Week 16 vs. DET

Rushing: 14 / 71 / 0
Receiving: 2 / 21 / 0 on 2 targets

Ricky Williams finished the game as the leading rusher. He plowed ahead on every rush, getting positive yards and making the defense work to bring him down every time he carried the ball. Had the Dolphins been able to hang onto their lead in the 4th quarter, Williams might have finished with more than 100 yards rushing. On the opening drive of the 4th quarter for the Dolphins, Williams was the main workhorse to put the Dolphins back up by 10 with 10 minutes to go. He opened the drive with several hard carries, on one play pushing the pile forward four yards for a solid gain. His biggest play of the game, which also turned out to be the biggest play for the Dolphins, was a wildcat formation where Ronnie Brown handed him the ball. Williams took it off tackle, broke to the outside and powered up field for a big 28 yard gain. He also added a nice 13 yard check down later in the quarter, but was unable to get his team back into the game.

Week 17 vs. NE

Rushing: 6 / 5 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets

Likely his last game and it's a shame that it will be remembered because of a 2nd half fumble that didn't help things. Ricky has had a great career and is likely done in the NFL. 5 yards of offense in this game was pitiful and his days as an NFL back seem to be over.
