Receiving: 1 / 6 / 0 on 2 targets
Kleinsasser had only one reception but made a nice play on another target that bounced off his fingertips, which were just under the turf, but was reviewed and ruled incomplete. If Favre's confidence in his WR's continues to waiver, Kleinsasser could see more targets in some 2 TE sets.
Receiving: 2 / 17 / 0 on 2 targets
With Shiancoe with a leg injury, Kleinsasser saw more action than usual. He caught two short check-down passes for ten and seven yards respectively. He was also used in dual tight end sets, but was used either as a blocker or as a decoy when Favre threw the pass to Dugan.
Receiving: 1 / 5 / 0 on 1 targets
The Vikings 2nd TE was basically a non-factor in this game but could have some real value if Shiancoe should ever get injured.
Receiving: 2 / 25 / 0 on 2 targets
Kleinsasser had just 2 receptions, the second of which was a broken play. Favre was in the shotgun and the ball was snapped into his ankles. The Cowboys were blitzing and Favre picked up the ball and check down to Kleinsasser, turning it into a screen. Klenisasser rumbled down the field for a big 20 yards gain, keeping the drive alive.
Receiving: 1 / 10 / 0 on 1 targets
The backup TE chipped in with a 10 yard gain, but did little else in the passing game.
Receiving: 1 / 6 / 0 on 1 targets
Kleinsasser was used more as a blocker than a pass catcher in this game, but he did have one check-down reception late in the second quarter.
Receiving: 1 / 6 / 0 on 1 targets
Mostly used as a blocker.
Receiving: 1 / 3 / 0 on 1 targets
Backup tight end / halfback Jim Kleinsasser caught one short pass for a three yard gain in the second quarter on his only target of Week 16. He did contribute as a blocker, helping QB Joe Webb get into the end zone on his nine yard run.
Receiving: 2 / 22 / 0 on 2 targets
Kleinsasser had just two receptions in this game. The first was a big 20 yard gain late in the first quarter when Joe Webb ran a play action bootleg and hit Kleinsasser down the right side of the field. Kleinsasser had gotten behind the linebackers and rumbled for a big gain. The second was a designed screen in the 4th quarter that the defense sniffed out immediately and dropped him for just a 2 yard gain.
