Northcutt was the slot receiver against the Saints, but was not targeted in the game.
Receiving: 2 / 15 / 0 on 6 targets
Northcutt was the #2 WR for the Lions in this game. Unfortunately, that only resulted in only two receptions for minimal gain. He was also the main punt returner but had only one ball that he did not 'fair catch'. He missed a perfect pass from Stafford late in the fourth quarter and the Lions had to settle for a field goal instead of getting closer to a TD as they tried to get back into the game. His impact for the Lions was minimal, but at least he had a better game than Bryant Johnson.
Receiving: 3 / 23 / 0 on 4 targets
Northcutt was a minor factor in this game. He had a beautiful outside corner play on 3rd and 10 in the first quarter to keep the offense moving. The drive eventually led to Bryant Johnson's TD reception and put the Lions up early. His other two catches were for short yards. On punt returns, he was ineffective and fair caught all but one of them.
Receiving: 1 / 4 / 0 on 2 targets
Dennis Northcutt had only one catch in Week 4 and has little fantasy value unless Calvin Johnson or Bryant Johnson gets injured. Detroit's WR3 should remain on your league's waiver wire.
Receiving: 5 / 70 / 1 on 8 targets
Dennis Northcutt racked up the most yardage against the Steelers, converting five of his eight targets for 70 yards including a 25-yard touchdown over the middle. Northcutt stepped up when Calvin Johnson left the game and became a nice target for Daunte Culpepper down the middle of the field. Northcutt also should get another catch of nine yards once the game book is reviewed with Bryant Johnson inadvertently credited with his nine yard catch. Northcutt will likely benefit the most if Calvin Johnson misses any time.
Receiving: 5 / 40 / 0 on 6 targets
For the 2nd straight week Northcutt was the Lions best looking and most effective WR. Northcutt ran crisp routes and made a few nice catches on hook routes early on. Northcutt was only able to rack up 40 yards due to the Lions anemic passing game this week. With Calvin Johnson out, Northcutt remains a viable starting wideout in deep leagues. It's also possible that Northcutt could stick with his current role when Johnson returns as well. Stay tuned.
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 5 targets
Northcutt dropped every pass that he had a chance to catch. He was adequate as a kick and punt returner, but otherwise, he was a non-factor from a fantasy prospective.
Northcutt's drops from last week cost him his job as a WR for the Lions. He was only used on special teams. Casey Fitzsimmons is the #3 receiving option now for the Lions.
Receiving: 6 / 48 / 0 on 8 targets
Northcutt returned to the Lion's receiving corps this week after being benched for his frequent drops two weeks ago. He responded well and came up with key receptions for first downs on three of his six receptions. He's still firmly entrenched as the 'possession' receiver for the Lions, but his renewed ability to catch the ball, combined with his punt and kick returns makes him a viable fantasy option in certain leagues.
Receiving: 3 / 17 / 0 on 5 targets
Northcutt caught three short passes, but was only targeted as a hot receiver or well down the pass progression.
Receiving: 2 / 51 / 0 on 5 targets
Northcutt saw a handful of targets in week 12, and was able to reel in a 47 yarder during a 4th quarter drive. He still suffers from an occasional mental lapse as evidenced by a couple of key 3rd down drops while the game was still within reach.
Receiving: 1 / 4 / 0 on 2 targets
Northcutt rotated slot duty with Casey Fitzsimmons and Demetrius Williams and was only targeted twice on short passes.
Receiving: 3 / 39 / 0 on 4 targets
Dennis Northcutt caught two passes over the middle on the same second quarter drive in Week 14, racking up 35 yards on the two grabs. Northcutt later added a short catch in the final period to close out his fantasy numbers for the week.
Receiving: 2 / 30 / 0 on 2 targets
Northcutt had a nice catch and run when the Lions came alive, but he also fumbled a punt to set up an early Cards score.
