Rushing: 13 / 34 / 0
Receiving: 4 / 54 / 0 on 4 targets
Foster saw his first extended gametime of the season and made the most of his opportunity. He carried the ball 13 times and had 4 receptions for 88 total yards. Foster was most successful in running up the middle or off guard in to the teeth of the Seattle defense as Houston worked to run the clock out in the second half. His most impressive play came on a 20 yard reception on a screen pass wherein he showed an extra gear and followed his blockers for extra yards.
Rushing: 2 / 7 / 0
Receiving: 1 / 13 / 0 on 1 targets
Foster looked to get significant work against the Rams, logging 2 carries for 7 yards on the Texans first drive. However, he fumbled the ball inside the Rams' 10 yard line on the Texans second drive after a 13 yard reception and did not return to the game.
Rushing: 19 / 97 / 1
Unlike Ryan Moats, Chris Brown, and even Steve Slaton before him in 2009, Arian Foster seized the opportunity he was given and had perhaps the Texans best pure rushing performance in a season. Foster carried the ball 19 times for 97 yards but showed the vision and quickness to get to the hole at the line before it closed, unlike his aforementioned teammates. Foster was effective between the tackles and around the ends. His best run came on his touchdown scamper. Foster took the ball off tackle to the right, cut back to the middle of the field, and ran the final 12 yards completely untouched in to the end zone. If Foster performs well next week in the Texans' final game, he may put Chris Brown and Ryan Moats out of a job.
Rushing: 20 / 119 / 2
Receiving: 3 / 26 / 0 on 4 targets
Foster received his first career start Sunday against New England and didn't disappoint. He had 20 carries for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Both scores came from the goalline, one on a run to right-guard and the second off-tackle to the left. Foster also caught 3 passes for 26 yards. His best run came on a 24 yard run where he quickly found the hole to the left side of the line and then cut up field for a long gain. Foster finished the season with 54 carries for 257 yards and 3 touchdowns. His production in the last three weeks may cost Chris Brown and Chris Henry their roster spots for 2010.
