Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets
Clowney was nowhere to be found after another preseason filled with long TDs.
Receiving: 4 / 72 / 0 on 4 targets
Clowney had his biggest game as a pro when Jerricho Cotchery's injury opened the door to more playing time. He looked to be in sync with Mark Sanchez on a pair of catches in the two-minute drill, and his long bomb catch was exactly the kind of play he has been routinely making in the preseason. With injuries decimating the Jets WR corps, Clowney could be in for a bigger role in the near future.
Clowney started, but he wasn't targeted once all day.
Rushing: 1 / 2 / 0
Receiving: 4 / 79 / 1 on 5 targets
Clowney got the start in Week 7 against the Raiders, and he did well in that role. Clowney grabbed four out of five chances including some strong grabs on the perimeter where he barreled ahead for extra yardage after the catch. Clowney's biggest play came in the third quarter where he beat CB Chris Johnson in single coverage to reel in the biggest pass of the game for the Jets, a 35-yard fade to the end zone for a touchdown. Clowney could hold on to the starting job if Jerricho Cotchery remains sidelined, but odds are that he moves back to the WR3 role for New York once Cotchery is healthy again.
Receiving: 3 / 16 / 0 on 3 targets
Clowney's speed wasn't used in this game, he just caught a few short passes on third down that saw him get swallowed up quickly by a tackler and not get the first down.
Receiving: 1 / 7 / 0 on 4 targets
Clowney didn't get many targets in this game, but did make a nice catch converting a crucial 3rd down. The jets need to find a way to put his 4.3 speed to use and stretch the defense.
Rushing: 1 / 13 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 2 targets
The Jets receiver came close to making a spectacular play in the end zone where Sanchez threw to the corner and Clowney was able to reach the pass getting both feet down but couldn't control the ball on the way to the ground. Clowney also had an end around opportunity that he took for 13 yards.
Receiving: 1 / 6 / 0 on 1 targets
Clowney had one third-down catch, but otherwise wasn't used in the game plan today.
Rushing: 1 / -14 / 0
Receiving: 1 / 11 / 0 on 1 targets
Clowney was the third option in a passing attack that totalled 106 yards. 'Nuff said. He also got the ball on a reverse, but took a huge loss on the play.
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 2 targets
Clowney had no receptions, but late in the game did snag a deep sideline pass that was thrown just out of bounds. It was an impressive play on his part, but of course didn't matter on the scoresheet.
