Smith saw his first action of the year and was able to find an immediate connection with Favre as a safety check down. He saw six targets in total and was able to catch four balls for 29 yards. In addition to his multiple receptions, Smith added 59 yards rushing on only four carries as he was used in to stretch the defense and run to the outside.

Week 10 vs. STL

Receiving: 2 / 14 / 0 on 2 targets

The versatile wide out was used in a variety of looks in this game. He caught balls in a traditional manner, ran an end around and also took a snap in the Wildcat formation. It was a rather ugly play that looked disorganized. Smith was able to show his athletic abilities and struggled for a short gain of six yards.


Week 11 vs. NE

When the Jets used the wildcat formation inside the red zone, he ran the ball off tackle with having an option toss to Thomas Jones. They play was well run and went for 17 yards and almost a score.


Week 12 vs. TEN

Receiving: 1 / 8 / 0 on 1 targets

Smith saw his only target good for an eight yard gain.


Week 13 vs. DEN

Rushing: 1 / 0 / 0
Receiving: 1 / 10 / 0 on 3 targets

Smith hauled in a ten yard reception late in the fourth quarter as the Jets were attempting to come back. It was his only catch of the game.


Week 14 vs. SF

Receiving: 2 / 7 / 0 on 2 targets

Smith caught both of his targets, but was more remembered for his second reception where he took a vicious but clean hit. He jumped up after being bent backwards, walked a few steps then fell to the ground. After being looked at by New York's medical staff, Smith was able to walk off the field after a few minutes.
