Jones was clearly the number two option in the running game, behind starter Maurice Morris. He did not even carry the ball until the second quarter. Once Morris got hurt early in the second half, Jones took over almost exclusively. He had runs of 14 and 24 yards, but also had four carries for negative yards. The main difference with Jones on the field is that the Seahawks included him in the passing game, which was not the case with Morris.

Jones struggled early, gaining two yards or less on four of his first five carries, but he exploded through 49ers arm tackles to score on an electrifying 27 yard run (first score of the game), which fired up the team and give Jones a jolt of confidence. He ran with some swagger after this and averaged 4.9 yards per carry on the day. Jones had three red zone carries and was also pretty involved in the passing game. He is so the man now in this offense, and it's obvious the Seahawks will rely on him heavily until RB Maurice Morris regains his health.

Julius Jones made a case to be the number one back by averaging over 6.4 yards per carry as he ran for 144 yards. His one touchdown came on a 29 yard tackle breaking dash up the middle in the first quarter, but his workload decreased in the second half after Seattle built a big lead.
Rushing: 17 / 61 / 0
Receiving: 1 / 13 / 0 on 1 targets
Julius Jones started the game, and carried the ball 17 times for 61 yards. He looked somewhat tentative to take the ball up the middle, instead preferring to kick it outside on many plays. He did not show a lot of big play ability, as the Giants held him to a long of eight yards. Even with Maurice Morris out, it was telling that T.J. Duckett was not a part of the gameplan before the very end. Jones caught his only target for 13 yards.
Rushing: 12 / 44 / 0
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets
Julius Jones had one very nice run for 51 yards that defenders had to catch him from behind. However, that play was called back on a penalty. He only had twelve touches and both of his targets were batted down by lineman before he had a chance to catch them.
Rushing: 7 / 42 / 0
Receiving: 1 / -5 / 0 on 1 targets
Jones split time with Maurice Morris in the backfield. It was essentially a 50-50 split of plays and looks to be a solid running back by committee situation. Jones had one nice run for 21 yards on Seattle's touchdown drive, but other than that struggled to get past the opposing defensive line.
Rushing: 6 / 9 / 0
Receiving: 2 / 22 / 0 on 2 targets
RB Julius Jones was not very good but the team was able to overcome the absence of a running game to win. RB Maurice Morris ran the ball five more times than Jones.

On the day, the Seahawks were clearly committed to using a committee at RB, so even though Jones got the start and finished with the most carries of any Seattle back, he was unable to get enough opportunities to amass many yards or any scores. When he did receive his carries, he faced a tough Eagles defense that prevented him from making many plays and he seemed to get swallowed up on each carry almost as soon as he hit the line. To the extent that he was able to rack up some yards, over half of them (26) came on consecutive carries late in the fourth quarter when the Eagles were more concerned with pass defense and protecting their 19 point lead.

Receiving: 2 / 2 / 0 on 4 targets
Jones got stronger as the game went on. He was given nearly all of the carries and though he did not have much success in the first half (7-15-0), in the second half, five of his nine carries went for first downs, which included his longest of the season, a 33 yard scamper that took the Seahawks to the Miami five yard line.
Rushing: 10 / 19 / 0
Receiving: 1 / -5 / 0 on 1 targets
Jones finished the game with only 19 yards on ten carries with a long run of only six yards. Jones found the Cardinal front line difficult to penetrate. Jones fumbled once which led to an Arizona field goal.
Rushing: 2 / 21 / 0
Jones was used to give the starter Morris a rest on occasion. He had a nice opening run that went for 19 yards down the right sidelines. It was a little surprising that Jones did not receive more carries although Morris was running well for the Seahawks.
Rushing: 11 / 37 / 0

Returning to Dallas for the first time since leaving the Cowboys, Jones got off to a rough start. On his second rush of the game, he brought what was a good looking Seattle drive to screeching halt when he lost control of the ball and Dallas recovered it. Things didn't get much better after that as he struggled to gain yards against the Dallas front seven, and then sat out the third quarter due to a reported head injury. When he returned in the fourth quarter he promptly fumbled the ball a second time, though the Seahawks retained possession when it rolled out of bounds. That would be the end of Jones' day after gaining only 37 yards on 11 rushes.
Rushing: 4 / 18 / 0
Jones barely touched the ball in this contest. He had one seven yard run called back on a penalty, but that hardly adds to his meager total.
