Receiving: 2 / 12 / 1 on 3 targets
The Bills have been anxious to get their prized rookie on the field since he injured a hamstring in camp. He averaged over 15 yards per catch in preseason, and finally made his appearance in the fourth quarter. He skied in the back corner of the end zone and came down with the go ahead touchdown pass. Replay showed his left foot clearly inbounds but his right foot landed at the out of bounds line. The play was challenged, but without a good camera angle the TD stood. It appeared that he might have touched the line with the tip of his cleat.
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets
After scoring a key touchdown last week, Hardy saw just one target all afternoon. It resulted in a drop, and it didn't come until late in the fourth quarter.
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 4 targets
Hardy got the start with Roscoe Parrish sidelined. He was targeted twice in the red zone in the first quarter but was unable to properly use his 6'5" height advantage to box out the defender. He was not targeted after that, although he remains in Buffalo's plans. They drafted him to be a red zone target.
Receiving: 3 / 35 / 0 on 4 targets
Hardy was utilized almost exclusively on shorter passes, and used his size to present himself to Losman as a good possession receiver target. Hardy was targeted once in the end zone on the Bills' final play of the game, but the ball was knocked away by the defensive back covering him.
Receiving: 2 / 19 / 0 on 5 targets
The 6' 5" Indiana rookie is still adjusting but managed to catch two passes for 19 yards. He appeared to be the primary beneficiary of Josh Reed's injury.
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets
Hardy saw only one target on the day and it was an incomplete pass.
Receiving: 2 / 21 / 1 on 4 targets
Hardy's development has been disappointing so far this season. The injury to Josh Reed was supposed to be opportunity knocking but he has been slow to take advantage. With less than two minutes in this game, however, Edwards found him down the right sideline in single coverage. The ball was thrown a little short but Hardy caught it around the two yard line and stepped into the end zone for the Bills only TD.
With the return of Josh Reed, Hardy's role has been reduced to spot duty. He was called for holding on a Fred Jackson run in the first quarter.
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets
Hardy was hit hard just as his only target arrived in the first quarter but he fumbled the ball. Josh Reed recovered for an apparent first down, but the play was challenged. Review showed he never had possession in the first place and it was therefore just an incomplete pass. At 6'5" he would have made a better target for the Bills' ill fated fade route in the end zone instead of the 5' 10" Lee Evans.
